I would say maybe we should take some cues from the older templates, but everytime it's brought up in-game the general consensus is "those old docs were SO SHITTY lol youre retarded *fills up entire page with unique pics and fancyfonts*" The most commonly used template now doesn't even offer anywhere to write in a victim/defendant name until 8 pages down, in some extremely small "profile" slots which take up the same amount of space as old docs had for def/pro. The reasoning behind this is "the summary will explain it lel." but i think the real reason is "putting the defendant and victim somewhere in the cast area would steal the space from my supercool picture and font and awesome quote and also my subtitle" but clearly i'm wrong. i can't have any valid points because I think the benefits of the old docs outweigh the newer templates and therefore am a crotchety old man who wants us all to stagnate and die, much like the people against letting dante from Project X Zone 2 and Nani from lilo and stitch 2 into the game

About the last part in the New Guide Adachi and Komaeda still have to do with crimesolving so I'd say those are bad examples compared to Lucina/Chrom who were merely crossovers. Sissel also never really got the crossover part outside of marvel vs capcom skins, he got in because 2nd party game that also has to do with mystery/murder although more about preventing the murder.
