For survival play I'd say Radiant Silvergun.
For scoreplay I'd say Crimzon Clover WI Original mode.

Your score always has a value to your sense of self-worth, so anything with no score or anything that can be counterstopped.

If you mean in-game, I think that's the majority of shmups, games with shops/upgrades seem fairly rare to me

R-Type Final has completely useless scoring, since you basically can get infinite score at the endboss.

Dariusburst looks kinda boring to me - well, compared to most good bullet hell shooters that is. Especially from cave. The music lacks variety, the backgrounds are plain boring and the bullet patterns are a joke. They should just release Mushihimesama and Deathsmiles to the PS4 and sell this for 10$ instead of 60$ (EU price).

Yes it does. Everything in that game has a pattern. Some are easier to learn than others.

I've vastly improved and do well except in the unlikely event that I get all melee weapons. I regularly make it to the stage before the final boss but I'm still working on that one.
