What tier 5 skill should i get for american BB captains? The secondary skill doesnt seem as useful as it is for the jap BBs, but there doesnt seem to be anything else really useful. Should i just not get one and get more lower tier skills?

Tbh I'd probably just go for a few of the lower skills, getting stuff like SA/BFT and whatever of SI/HA you didn't get previously, it's what I've done on my Iowa captain and it means you can pick up a bunch of really useful skills at once instead of a single good skill for 5 points.
If you really wanted to get a T5 skill for whatever reason either Concealment Expert and Jack of All Trades have their uses, the US BBs can get surprisingly low detection range for a BB which can be useful to have, while having having lower CDs on all the consumables is pretty self explanatory, especially at higher tiers.

Depends on the ship, duh.

ranked is for premade teams. doing so with pubs is asking for trouble
