In terms of sales, the worst of any anniversary game. In terms of actual game, barely a notch above 06 Playing Generations for the first time. It gave me so much hope and joy that I thought I couldn't get from Sonic. I really thought that Sonic was back on top.

Just finished Lost World. Final fight music was buttrock tier.
The game wasn't bad at all, Apart from the story,you had so much to work with and you didn't think Tails being a robot couldn't have been cool or Eggman's 'death' be more shocking or fucking what have you. I mean Sonic Colours had a lot you could have done with it but the escaping the black whole will be one of my favourite moments in Sonic so meh, I mean, a couple of levels were bullshit and the controls could do with tweaking but I went into it thinking it was going to be the worst thing. I mean, not as good as Adventures or Classics or Colours + Generations, but the 2D was pretty damn awesome at times.

People give the game overall a lot of shit because of the ass story but the gameplay is simply mediocre. Nothing offensive but nothing stellar either but it came at an awful time and was followed by something that was borderline offensive at an even worse time. I personally dislike the control scheme and how it affects playing the game but others tend to be more willing to bend over backwards in order to play a game "properly".
