I would use 1-8 for weapon selection if I didn't get so used to having to use the wheel back when it would reset the numbered slots to the default weapon in said slot when you hit 1-8 for some reason.

it's actually much faster. I've used it for months. The only reason I use the weapon wheel for is for heavy weapons and grenades.

I just got so used to using the wheel and never even trying to get used to the keys because for some fucking reason it used to default the weapons when I pressed them. For example, going for an AR would give the fucking assault rifle.

it's a good habit to get used to. I use
1 for sniper
2 for AR
3 for shotgun
4 for smg

Also unbinding the mouse wheel to select things in the weapon wheel makes sniping less retarded.

If you tapped the number keys to select the weapon beforehand it wouldn't go back to the default weapon.
