Darkest Dungeon feels pretty comfortable once you know all the mechanics behind it.

how do we fix gungeon

First, more obvious damage indicators

with that "free" "expansion" and "DLC"

make it so 90% of the weapons aren't hot garbage that feel pretty much the same

make passives and actives actually have an effect on the run other than being useless shit 90% of the time

make speed not affect rolls

Make weapons that aren't dudepopculturelmao and some actives that are actually worthwhile like boomerang. Also some more synergies that aren't "this does a tiny bit more damage now"

we can start by removing guns that are literally worthless and worse than the starting weapons, like the lowercase r and the blunderbuss

due to the sheer number of randomness in each run its more dictated by luck rather than skill

I want to say no but every seeded speedrun is just "azazel + tammy's head + damage up" rather than coming up with an interesting route involving any of the level skips you can do like finding the shovel and routing out which batteries to get.

But then again if you're not using a seeded run you're not really speedruning,that's just playing isaac normally.

Probably not. Audio is one of the few areas where I'm willing to pull content from the current source. Nobody appreciates a good sound engineer until they need one.

Well slightly off topic, but I like how some weapons can be spammed to fire faster. I think that mechanic could be built upon by making some weapons require timing between shots to fire as fast as possible.

Simply give it more variety and quantity in terms of items, guns, bosses, characters and give it more optional end game areas. (Like Isaacs chest floor)

In my opinion if Gungeon had 3 fucking content expansions like Isaac it would be just as good if not better then Isaac

Content expansions won't fix anything unless you make the Bullets and Bucks not be bullet sponges.
