I actually didn't even know DeS had multiplayer until that happened. It was extremely new and exciting to me at the time.

you can put them on at the same time, but they do different things. hornet ring increases crit damage, leo ring increases damage with thrust counter hits

Hacker invaded me beneath the drake bridge as I was making my way towards Parish for the first time. He let me hit him a couple times to show that he was invincible, and then sent my save file into the abyss droploop and I had to restart. I never went human pre-sen's again.

It was a megamuled blue on PS3 that stacked buffs and used a CMW MLGS. I parried his running attack and the phantom crit bug caused my riposte to do over 3k damage and instantkill him. I swapped to the pc version when it came out and never had to deal with max level megamule shitters again.

Invaded in Undead Settlement by a guy with a fire longsword that did no damage. I poked him to death with a bandit's knife because it was dealing more damage per hit, and I could just walk into him and keep trading.

I didn't summon, so I wasn't invaded until Nightmare Frontier. It was some incredibly laggy guy with a japanese name and a saw spear that kept mashing R1 at me. I chugged like 10 vials dealing with laggy phantom range bullshit and then gunspammed him with a blunderbuss. I eventually landed a parry completely randomly and the visceral killed him because he only had 500-something HP.

Overall, DaS3 has been my best experience with being invaded so far. I've been invaded more than all the other games combined, never encountered a character who was clearly, significantly more powerful than I could have possibly been at that stage in the game, never encountered a hacker, mule or any other such shittery as a host, and generally had low enough latency for invasions to result in proper fights and not just mindless "nothing is synced so I'll just blindly mash a button until things work out" like BB. I've even started using the finger to get invaded more during playthroughs and it's always a good time. Fingered 2v2s with a blue bud makes even shitty areas like Smouldering Lake fun.

And, it's still stronger on a quality build with minimum int than anything else.

What lvl to invade cathedral? Fextra suggests new players are 40 with +3-4. As invader go 35 and +4?

Yeah, 30-40 with a +3 or +4 weapon works in my experience.

+4 will invade down to +2, which is good because nobody is still running around with +1 that deep into the game.
30 is probably the best to find activity, as you'll invade up to 40. That early in the game, you effectively have no downward invasion range, so 35 can't invade 30s. As a result, you tend to want to aim at the lower end of the level spectrum and just use gear to make up the difference

Be sure to twink out properly because Cathedral is a very popular co-op spot and most targets will have at least 2 phantoms and WoB.
