it has to do with chocobos being treated as full on party members (ie, taking one of the eight full slots) rather than being simply a summoned entity (like an egi, faerie, or autoturret). this may also be because of the fact that they accrue experience points

it's stupid but i imagine on the backend it's a more complicated issue than it would appear and that it's a really low priority (because in the grand scheme of things it isn't actually important).

Every belt they made had a specific top that was meant to go with it. 1.0 players SPECIFICALLY ASKED belts to be made non-visible because of how fucking godawful endgame outfits looked purely because of the belts that often times clipped through THEMSELVES. This was a time before glamour prisms, understand.

Game is still very new player friendly. Thread is a bit poop sometimes but you should be able to get answers to your questions.

I would just get the base game until you're sure you'll like it (you can play the base game until 50 without missing out on anything unless you want to be Au Ra). Unless you have money to blow or are really that interested, in which case you can spring for heavensward right away.

CE of the base game and HW just give you extra cosmetics. You can upgrade to them any time through mog station if they have something you decide you really want.

Nah. They'd want to keep FFXIV as playable on low end PCs as possible to get more players playing their game, even after PS3 support's discontinuation. That's the main reason why they wanted it playable on the PS3 in the first place.

Never saw the appeal of the small races. They're cute, but gear glamours are semi-meaningless because you're so small.
