You'll be in for a very interesting experience. It's crazy how little importance the modern world gives to dreams, considering you spend around 1/3 of your life sleeping. The single most important thing to know if you want to do this is that you need to be able to remember them consistently. Make a habit of remembering your dream as the first thing you do after waking up, and if possible write or type it down with as much detail as you can. You'll eventually start remembering more and you'll begin to realize just how vivid they can get.

About a year of bikeshedding from the DDA devs before I realized that it would never have any sort of progression beyond midgame and that the devs had a completely different design philosophy from what I wanted.
Maybe two months on Nethack. I fucking sucked at it and don't like reading guides.

Too bad it doesn't work on half the shit endgame. Playing a DD is too stressful for me.
DDNe was my first 15 rune but it was stressing as fuck. After doing Slime I switched to Makhleb and used Arga with a shield. Pan almost made me quit thanks to torment but I managed to get necromut online for Hell and Tomb.

I've gotten down into the lair and found the slime pits as a MiBe (i'm shit, I need the crutch) and am trying to find a ring of resist corrosion I dropped, any tips for searching for that shit other than just manually going through map mode?

ctrl+f type rCorr and you'll find all the sources of rCorr you have seen up to that point. Of course, unidentified items won't show up.
I should add, Slime is not a place you go to early on after you finish Lair. It can be pretty unforgiving. I usually only do it if I'm going for at least 5 runes.

Its one of the few areas where mashing tab and summoning battle brothers will get you destroyed.
They are, but I expected him to retreat around. They seem to path to you in other situations, at least.
New bowmaster power: ranged poison needle. Costs 20 hp an attempt, but I've never used the real thing to know how effective it is against monsters that aren't the babble. Took three hits (and two misses) to kill this AHMD.
Using it on a great hell wyrm didn't work out very well.

Slime is something you MAYBE do once you're already good for Zot or post-end
Doing it right after Lair with a melee character is suicide
