One of the annoying things about V-II is that it immediately equips the "Best" items for a character. Since the nightgown/swimsuit DLC has a slight stat boost, it's auto equipped. It works in theory until you get the DLC item Plant Bracelet, which has amazing stats at the cost of all your ability to move.

There's a bunch of events through the game where characters leave and come back for all of one event and then their loadout is reset. It's especially bad if a character is added for a single boss fight.
