Thing is, its pointless to use specials.
Every attempt is just 1AP, so it's not like you have to be frugal. It's more time saving to just spam basic attacks than to stop and use specials.

You're guaranteed the second reward for hosting so there's no real reason to work on your own fortress crab if there's 2 up.
