Why not include the Application Data with the base install for most games? It's a nice cocktease to finish 8 GBS for it to then require 40 more.

Most games nowadays let you play the beginning area or base stuff after the initial download while under the assumption that you're internet is good enough to download the rest of it while you play.

It does say the total size before starting the download (base+data) then it just removes data and starts downloading the base game. After it's finished it lets you play the game for an hour or two or something similar.
