Actually a new thread without killing the old thread? A miracle! Next a /evn/ dev will actually finish a VN.

So femdevs, are you actually gay, or is it just a phase because you think it makes you cool and special?
Isaac Lee
Being bi doesn't make me look cool and special, just desperate.
Caleb Sanchez
If I had a pussy each time got asked this question. I'd get a harem.
Chase Bailey
user, I'm fluid with my sexuality. I change it based on what makes me sound more special in whatever argument I'm causing.
Ian Hall
What kind of bi are you?
Isaac Gonzalez

Dominic Reyes
I bet that bicycle gets more pussy than you.
Dominic Sullivan
I just imagined this girl bald, and the size of her head terrifies me.
Gavin Hughes
Fuck. Can't unsee. Why do people always forget basic anatomy? Even in moe blobs, there's some sort of guide on doing foreheads.
Nolan Hughes
"Basic anatomy" regardless has become so overused in this thread it's become a meme at this point. This is reaching ulnar styloid levels where any slight mistake is the artist "not knowing basic anatomy".
Higurashi had characters with christmas hams for hands, this shit is beginning to sound like taking every excuse to disregard an entire game because "Oh shit, one character has a big forehead, my peepee will never be hard again."
Elijah Gutierrez
An anatomical error could get jarring sometimes. Stylized art is understandable but even then, there are particular rules for it. Unless, "quality" is a meme now.
Thomas Roberts
It's like this for most anime girls. The size of the head is huge, but the hair conceals that fact. It's only really noticeable here because her hairline is so high up.
Sebastian White
I found a better negative review for Highway Blossoms from a lesbian who thought it was written by men and for men.
That ulnar styloid caused both mental and ocular trauma and had to be stopped.
Daniel Morgan
Why do lesbians hate fluff yuri?
Nolan Bennett
>it was written by men and for men Is that a problem?
Levi Peterson
>The main character's motivation is mostly that she wants to protect the other girl, who is incessantly described by her innocence and child-like perspective. I've never been into yuri and thought these might be anime tropes that I'm unfamiliar with, so I tried to give it the benefit of the doubt, but all of my good will was exhausted even before the second sex scene ended in a fake climax.
>The reason I chose Highway Blossoms over another visual novel for my first foray into yuri was because of the American Southwest treasure hunt aspect. Unfortunately, there's barely any treasure hunting, and while you do learn about a couple of tourist attractions in the American Southwest, the adventure makes up very little of the game as opposed to the romance, which isn't good enough to compensate for the scarcity of plot.
Chase Powell
It sounds like matching styles is more important in your VN, and by extension that'd mean you're doing the right thing by putting in that effort. Your audience mightn't consciously notice but the style of a VN's art, music, etc. will still influence how they feel and experience your work.
In the VN I'm doing BGs for the characters don't seem to be presented as though they're literally in the BG. It's more like "hey, this is the context you're in", with cut-ins for other stuff the MC might focus on. I'm also somewhat matching pre-existing art too.
Even if your BG art doesn't look good to you, remember that it doesn't need to stand alone. It exists in the context of the VN you're making, and can still have positive (if subconscious) benefits. It's telling the audience where they are and the art as a whole is coming across in a consistent style. Those two things together are good.
Go easy on yourself :)
Dylan Reyes
Did you write this review?
Sounds like someone who isn't a weeb and obviously isn't into stories with weeb-ish character archetypes.
Anyway, I'm a lesbian and I personally enjoy most yuri "aimed at men". Apparently I have similar sexual tastes to men? Most gay girls I've heard say that just seem bothered it's not a super realistic story about being gay in real life and are they kind of people who want only strong womyn tumblr stories. Cute romance is nice sometimes.
Landon Flores
>Did you write this review? No, it's just currently the top negative review.
Luis Hill
>I personally enjoy most yuri "aimed at men" ....Which is 95% of it.
Easton Price
Probably the most uplifting comment I've read in /evn/. You're a good user.
Logan Brooks
And this is bad because?
Oliver Evans
>yuri aimed at men
This is shit insane feminists say because they personally dislike sex appeal and what to shame women who do like sex appeal.
Their ideal yuri is 80 episodes of gasping and staring at each other before one either dies or gets married to a dude.
Levi Ward
This. They don't like women being sexualized in any way. If yuri games that have hot girls in sexy clothes are what constitutes "aimed at men", then bring on more of those please.
Joshua Perry
I'm gonna set all you motherfuckers straight
Naked girls are aimed at people who enjoy naked girls
Naked boys are aimed at people who enjoy naked boys
now shut the FUCK up and just recognize that highway blossoms is trash
Jason Green
What if I enjoy both?
Easton Ramirez
Then you are bisexual you dumbass.

I'll also add that yuri stories are relatively unpopular with men compared to yaoi with girls. This is because while most men enjoy seeing two chicks fuck when it comes to romance they usually would rather be able to self insert because they want be the one romancing and sticking their dick in their waifu. Which is understandable, if I had a dick I'd also want to stick it in my waifu. But because of that, out of het, yaoi and yuri, yuri is by far the most niche of the three. This is why you don't get a whole lot of yuri doujins and stories (that aren't basically moe SoL cuteness) out if Japan, and why in the West yuri productions tend to have a sizeable fanbase of bi/gay women. Straight women will sometimes enjoy yuri just out of pure enjoyment of cute fluffy relationships too.
TL;DR Men don't even like "yuri aimed at men" all that much.
Angel Clark
>highway blossoms I-I liked goofball mode.
Henry Evans
This is the best yuri. Prove me wrong.
Henry Jenkins
i like a challenge, so i raise you this; no ass licking yet
Cooper Stewart
What do girls even do with butts?
Chase Ward
Anything you can do with an ass that doesn't involve a penis.
Jaxson Watson
This and Prism. Too bad Prism was canceled. It's hard to have yuri with interesting conflict that isn't just ANNNGST like Citrus
Christian Barnes
>that doesn't involve a penis What's the point?
Aiden Morales
yeah asian webtoons do fluffy yuri better at this point.
Eli White
Well I'm not much of an ass person myself but touching them is pretty nice. Some people like to eat ass. Also some girls like being fucked in the ass, so lesbo girls might use a dildo in that case.
Jaxson Hughes
But user don't you know women can't possibly have gross fetishes!!!!
Pfft. If only they knew how perverted old school yuri manga were. And those were the og yuri, gay women making gay mango for gay women.
Anthony Reed
I want to make a eroge about a male teacher pursuing a naive male student among other characters. What's the best way to make this game?
Daniel Diaz
Get off Veeky Forums and start working on it you lazy shit, that's the best way.
Parker Johnson
Become a gay male teacher that pursues male students, then write about your experience.
Matthew Scott
I know nothinf about teaching. Without being a teacher, how do I found out what being a teacher is like?
Mason Brooks
There's this really amazing tool they invented. All you need to do is type in a few words and you will find millions of results to help you research almost any topic. It's called "google". You should check it out sometime.
Jacob Morgan
It's like being a student, but you have less tolerance to noise (fucking brats yelling everywhere. How come it doesn't give them headaches, are they retarded or just deaf?). You repeat the same lesson for a bunch of different classes. Kids expect you to remember their 120 names after a week because they remember yours. About a 20% of your students are nice and smart people you really care for, but you rarely can give them attention because you are expected to babysit the other morons. Grading tests is a royal pain in the ass. Also, you have to deal with a lot of nonsensical reunions whith other teachers where they moan about problems that would remain unsolvable until the day they grow a spine and fucking do something about it. But they never do. Fortunately where I live parents are not too retarded (yet, the percentage grows every year), Most still react when you tell them to do something about their kid being a jerk, but a few will try to sue you over literally nothing. Oh, and if you happen to be female, some will even try to hit you. And that is factoring the lack of guns in my country, and the fact that I work in a middle class high school, with little to none problem with immigration, gangs and all that shit you see in americlap movies.

Looking great so far. W/c game?

Needs some more textures or filters or something, looks like a cheap FMV adventure game like that.
Henry Thomas
Clearly Yuri made by men for men. Sweet innocent girls are not capable of sexualizing others in that way.
You know what? I think I figured out the problem. The girls writing those reviews are so fucking ham ugly or opinionated that they never have any sexual encounters or relationships. So it seems alien to them that girls could be like that. If only they met some of the girls I've met in my life...

Can any kind, programming inclined soul tell me why at_list doesn't recognize 'size'? Doesn't matter if the s is capitalized or not, renpy still tells me that the global name 'size' is not defined. renpy.show(sprite, at_list=[Position(xpos = x, xanchor= x, ypos= y, yanchor= y), size(h, w)])
Asher Cooper
I'm using this in a function within an init python block, if that matters.
Christian Richardson
this may be a very stupid piece of advice, but have you tried defining size in an earlier init (like init -100) before running the function?
Christopher Price
Maybe 'size' is not defined, but 'width' and 'height' are?
Noah Torres
I'm learning as I go along, so I wouldn't really know if that's a stupid piece of advice or not, but according to renpy's documentation, at_list should be able to take any expression at can, which would include size. Like Position, it shouldn't need to be defined.
Unfortunately no. I've also tried scale. They all give me the same error message.
Carter Wood

Matthew Peterson
But he has a bag of blood right on the table. What a greedy bastard.

There are men who love yuri aimed at men. Particularly the men who are really, really into Pure Yuri (the kind where they never have sex) because they hate themselves and wish they could be a pure innocent little girl forever.
Most actual lesbians I know find this shit pretty frustrating.
Men aren't all the same.
Cameron Howard
Try this. Make a transform:
transform my_size(w,h): size (w,h)
then use that in your at_list=[my_size(w,h), Position(xpos = x, xanchor= x, ypos= y, yanchor= y)]
Jordan Watson
I'm not familiar with the particular code you're using - is size actually a function?
Xavier Butler
Things in yuri that are assumed to be aimed at men:
- no sex ever (purest form of love) - too much sex (fetish porn) - girls who only ever love once (purity fag) - girls who have had multiple relationships (which means they're sluts so guys think they have a chance) - sweet moe girls dressed in school uniforms - skanks dressed in ways you'd be embarrassed to be seen in public - no bisexuals - bisexuals - anything a particular reader doesn't like
It's not just yuri fans though, a lot of people will assume anything they find personally dubious is obviously gross pandering to their enemies.
Landon Lewis
Random game idea: Very active and aggressive pink haired, overweight feminist finds out that she is actually infatuated with men. This whole time, she was fighting her own insecurities. Love interests include a tsundere MGTOW advocate, men's rights activist leader, a neo nazi redneck from the south, two sizable black brothers, and a nerd who works part time at a doughnut shop.
If you want to use this idea it's free. Don't worry about crediting me.
Jason Ramirez
Renpy accepts this, so it looks like I did have to manually define it after all, but now the sprite no longer appears when I implement it.
Maybe I should just post the function and what I'm using to call it in case any incredibly kind and patient soul is willing to tell me what I'm doing wrong and how dumb I am. init -1 python: def showSprite(x, y, sprite, h, w, t): global movement_minutes = 0 #including global gives me a syntax error. can't figure out why it doesn't want me to reassign the value. Is global even needed to properly reassign the value of this variable? renpy.transition(dissolve) renpy.show(sprite, at_list=[Position(xpos = x, xanchor= x, ypos= y, yanchor= y), my_size(h,w)]) #the sprite doesn't appear when I include my_size. Sprite will otherwise appear in the upper left, regardless of what I pass to Position if movement_minutes >= t: #will need some way to be able to pause this if the player starts a conversation renpy.transition(dissolve) renpy.hide(sprite) #the sprite does not hide properly
and the call: $ showSprite(900, 600, "aiga", .5, .5, 5)
It was under the list of transform properties and a friend of mine said it would work, but I guess not.
Connor Sullivan
>"All she needed was a good dicking to set her straight!" as secondary title. What could possibly go wrong?
Cooper Morales
Your biting satire arouses me. Truly, you are a god among devs.
Blake Green
I'm not sure why you're creating your own functions to begin with, it's hard to tell if you know enough about this sort of thing to have any hope of making sense of code (and as you notice, pasting code here doesn't work well, all your whitespace has disappeared)
Where are you getting the information that Position and size are functions? There's a note in the RenPy code that there USED to be a Position function years ago, but it's long since deprecated and replaced by ATL.
Are you being fed random snippets of code by people who last used the program ten years ago, rather than starting from the beginning and looking things up as they currently exist?
David Anderson
>Renpy accepts this, so it looks like I did have to manually define it after all, No, it's just that you're trying to use things that don't exist in the first place. Since they don't exist, unsurprisingly they don't work.
>global movement_minutes = 0 #including global gives me a syntax error. can't figure out why it doesn't want me to reassign the value. Is global even needed to properly reassign the value of this variable?
What on EARTH are you trying to do?
If you want to modify a global variable in a function you need to declare it at top, but do you actually want a global variable here, and if so, why?
Your code doesn't make any sense, and I keep feeling like it would be more useful to encourage you to use actual renpy commands instead of trying to write your own in python.
Jayden Morgan
I think people would buy this just to see a feminist scum get dicked straight.
Julian Rivera
but... most feminists are straight. plenty of them are cockthirsty. have you never met a woman?
Cooper Clark
You'd be better off just making a Gor game. Then the stupid whiny feminists who get dragged in from Earth and made into sex slaves for True Men are at least hot.
I could recommend titles if you want to read the books.
Luke Hall
>have you never met a woman? I don't hang around feminists. Is there something you want to confess? Scum?

I don't see any problem with it.
Camden Morris

Landon Cook
Fucking furry. But you can make furry games if you want to, it's not my job to stop it.
Brandon Walker
Good, people here are degenerate enough to know what Kemono is, right? So I have a choice of making a character like that, or just having them be the run of the mill human with animal ears and tail. I'm not sure the Western audience is ready to delve in that far. The hatred for anything with fur runs deep in the west. I don't know how big of a risk it would be to use a character like this.
The majority of the characters are generic humans that everyone loves don't worry.
