Non-western art

we have art threads all the time, but they always end up being 90% european. for some variety, post your favorite eastern/oriental art.

Asian landscape paintings are so comfy. I like them better than western ones

I only have prints and any other non European subjects are made by European artists anyway.

This looks Buddhist to me. The ancient Buddhist region in central Asia/Afghan probably influenced this

Chinese landscape paintings ("山水画") were not meant to be realistic, instead aiming to convey a mood or create an atmosphere.

my favorite one. it is the famous vinegar story about the three spritual masters (lao tzu, buddha, and confucious) drinking vinegar and reflecting on it
