God I hate how EVERY AliceSoft game puts a ridiculously OP final boss at the end that's 20 billion times stronger than anything else you've seen all game. It annoys me every single time.

Older games in general were like that, which is much better than anticlimactic pussies like the ones seen nowadays. I don't even know why you are having trouble with Upsilon, I beat him on my first try. Noce was a lot worse.

So, I just found the thread where I posted while doing my first playthrough of SR (apparently it took me a week to beat).

Here's what I thought of the game back then:

I even accused that game that it failed on "show, don't tell", since "Rance shakes his hips more violently" doesn't do much for your arousal.

Here's the kicker:

I fapped to the point of exhaustion (never had played an eroge yet).
Was amazed at how a game could have mixed VN and Nobunaga's Ambition-like gameplay into something very engaging, and how it adapted to what the player chose to do.
Couldn't get around at understanding the point of dungeons and the item shop.

I don't agree with you. I really enjoyed the text, it was very descriptive, at least for most of the time. I focused more on the text and took the image as some sort of "compass" to get some bearing on what the situation was like.

So, what's the deal with the character clears in KR? I've heard that they're nearly as bad as BBA.

Every character has a good ending and a bad ending. They don't do anything really, but some have CG's attached to them.

I need a moon speaker, can someone just give me a brief summary of what this page is about? Am I right to be under the impression that it's a guide to a 316 points run of SR?

Also, if it's got any details on how to beat Orochi with a bad team or otherwise exploit the dungeon mechanics, I'd love to see those in English, although I know that's asking a lot.

They are different from BBA, they all have happy and unhappy endings. And no, they are not even close to being as bad as in BBA. There are a handful few that are absurd, but most of them are just got from normal decisions made throughout the game rather than "please guess this very specific algorithm".

There are some whose fates are tied to the ones of other characters. Like if X character dies, the other will get Unhappy ending guaranteed.
As for how bullshit they are, there are a few that are really hard to get. Not sure if as cryptic as Nogiku in SR, but still frustrating to get.

If you are the completionist type you're probably going to dislike the system because if you want to get ALL good and bad ending you will need multiple playthroughs. I personally like it that way though.

Upsilon wasn't that hard and I didn't even use Rick for the majority of the game. I think Dodge Tank Kanami is actually pretty efficient in that fight, as long as he doesn't do the range attack.

Heck, I might need to go back to play IV more because I didn't get the special event where Willis grants Rance a list of option for summoning her 2000 times or something.

iv been playing some sengoku rance and while i enjoy it, im just too terrible at it to get trough lategame, its like this: i start of great and smash faction after faction then all of a sudden the nearby factions have 2k troops instead of the 8-900 i used to face in the enemies i faced before so i get rekt, what am i doing wrong?

Yes. Rance got too impatient and thought that making Sill into a demon would fix the problem, instead it ended up making Sill into a pink sword .

It's a kichikuou Rance spinoff. So it's guaranteed to have the best possible interpretation of Rance.

I fully expect X to have 99% of the CGs to be about hornet sex CGs and the remaining 1% is for the scrub heroines.

I'm very nooby too. You're probably playing with shitty officers, and are you raising your units to at least a 1000?

I mean, the sudden rise of enemy troop count is really noticeable, but it is not unmanageable. In general your officers are much better than the enemie's.

i think i am using it right as i usually beat armies that are 50% bigger than mine but when every one of their units are atleast twice my size i cant really do anything, is there a specific order in which i should attack provinces?

And bear in mind that you have to worry more about that bar in the top of the screen than killing every enemy unit.

It does look like a bit of a wall of text, although not hard to read, considering that you don't need to read all of it.

Maybe try being more concise and explain less about the Chinese and Japanese runs? Just put something like keywords with the points they had next to the links for them, saying that they are the highest scoring.

And about the last part of the pastebin. The guy there while commenting about his run also comments about the other two. So maybe you could place it more separated from the part where you talk about his run? Something like "comments about the three runs" or another.

If it is your first time, yes it ruins it. There are also many things that can only be done in a NG+

From what I remember, you can only take it from him after you enter a route with the exception of Kenshin's route for obvious reasons.

If you're bragging about the capture, to my memory, she isn't a generic but hey, it's FFA.

If you're bragging about the number of units you've capped, you're an idiot - captures get harder as you capture more units (well, at the very least this is true in the normal game), particularly when you push it that far. If you're wanting to use the extra levels to buff Commander Charge or something, you should've started releasing well before 20.

I just went and played it. The game is quite simple and the beginning is not hard, so even if you fuck up there'll be no problem.

Just treat the first playthrough as a tutorial and learn by trying things out.
