They're crisper; which works for some characters, but like not as well for the others.

It's not moe/cutesy as the previous artstyles, but on the flipside it looks better on the cool/sexy characters.

So basically the 'cute' design characters (imoutos, nep, blanc) don't look as adorable as they used to, but the more sexy-design oriented characters; vert, ph, noire, etc... look sharper and hotter.

Victory was the peak of the series. VII takes itself too seriously, been playing for 8 hours and it didnt make me grin even once, and I feel like skipping every fucking scene. It was not the game I was expecting it to be.

Well, that is true. V2 in particular seems like it was made to fit Uzume's style. Previous Nep games profited from the lighter color palette, while this game really makes use of its newfound DoF and shadowmapping features. Which in Uzume's terms, looks cool.

I like them a lot more and also find them cuter. I didn't like Victory's sprites much at all, they were very plain and uninspired. Earlier art from Tsunako was a lot better. The coloration of everything in V-II is also really aesthetically pleasing.

Well, I wouldn't go so far as to say that; the writing/plot/quips/tone are pretty on par with the other games.

I'm 7 hrs in according to steam, and I can say I found the pink floyd and segata sanshiro references to be be knee-slapping funny, with plenty of other little grin and chuckle moments here and there, but no real awwwwwwww moments.

It honestly makes me hate the candidates even moreso than I already did..
The next forms are Kakkōī, but IMO the overall art-style has started to move away from MOE
That said, only Perfect Heart and to an extent Green Heart have sexy Next forms

There's just too much 3D in VⅡ. I really don't like it when they try to keep up with the trend but lack of advanced technics. I don't even know what engine this is based on.

I for one, just appreciate the monsters now have grunts and growls. It made hitting them feel more impactful compared to before which didnt really help the grindy nature of the game.

That's mostly because Plutia only had about 50 minutes of screentime there and thus didn't had the chance to drive her one joke into the ground until it stops becoming amusing and starts becoming grating.

If she had as much screentime in the anime as she did in V she would've ended up in the same way.

The majority of problems in Victory could be summarized by "Let's throw an angry Iris Heart at it!" and it seriously got stale fast.

They finally got a steady ground with Uzume, who's not only fun as an MC but is also not above to being the butt of jokes. Her only annoying trait is her genki girl tendencies because much like Iris Heart, the joke gets old quick.

Yeah, and game Plutia is that exact same souless husk, except multiplied by fifty times.

See the issue at hand is you just don't like the character, which is fine until you start telling everyone else that the character is ruined by (insert defining trait here)
True-end victory wasn't solved by angry Pururut, it was solved firstly by Nep and Puru coming up with an IDEA to save Peashy, which worked, and then by Puru absorbing and sharing Rei's power

It helps that Uzume's trait doesn't cause everyone around her to treat her like the second coming of christ. And also she doesn't dominate the scene every time that trait pops up.

I found it funny the first three or four times. Maybe they should have spaced out those sections further apart, so she does it again when you've almost forgot about it.

I also liked Iris' fear aura thing and her effect on regular neps, but they should have had the HDD forms stand up to her, or at least stop shaking. I mean ffs, Black Heart was always really stubborn, like she thinks she can win a fight against anyone. That was her even before the whole tsundere shtick. Again, that would have spaced out those Iris dominance moments further apart.
