For the weapons? Its not going to happen, they already said those weapons were too OP. If they bring back the old raids you won't be getting your fatebringer or VOC at high light levels, you'll either get entirely new weapons or completely nerfed and de-burned primaries.

Speaking of elemental primaries, an easy way Bungie an make sidearms useful in PvE is a global range boost of 30%, +18% damage increase against minions of the darkness and double ammo capacity.

That way, they would function just like an elemental primary.
