There is no FoV change when you use a 1x or irons.
There is a difference in sight picture. With irons, a good 70-90% of the target is obscured - a 1x reflex sight reduces that to 0-20%.
The reflex sights make it much easier to fire at targets, especially at range.

the problem seems to be that they contracted the engine work outside the company - probably they don't even have any documentation about anything and would have to hire back some of the original programmers, which is likely to be stupidly expensive

The bottleneck indicator has been bugged since forever. It always says GPU, even if GPU utilization is 10%.
processor and graphics card are the only important parts of the computer. (monitor is somewhat important)
The rest just connects it together and SSD is cheap now, RAM might as well be free.
That CPU will be worth it, but that graphics card is a huge overkill.
