Because they believe "all men are created equal" unless they are not white, refused to give up slavery, and now believe that abolishing slavery was a terrible mistake.

They live next to a lot of minorities

Most people that live around blacks are "racist" user

Still butthurt about loosing the Civil War

Because that's where the majority of Africans were sent to work the fields as slaves for plantation owners (the South was a primarily agrarian-based economy).

You'd be too if you had to live next to niggers

why is Veeky Forums so racist?

We're hipsters. Anti-racism is mainstream.

I hate that image, not because of the facts, those are verifiable at least, but the fact it uses a fucking picture. I suppose that guy survived the 200+ years for photography to exist? Jesus Christ /pol/ image macros are just as bad as SJW ones.

that is a drawing.

Whites had to keep blacks down on a psychological level. They did a thorough job, so much so that blacks resented whites, and their developing culture became one of struggle and resistance to authority (whitey). The south hates them cuz "niggers suck," but whitey's ancestors created the problem. The south was cursed with a great cash-crop climate, so they held on to the system longer than the north.

try living around poor african americans for years and not have negative stereotypes form

Because we have to live around blacks. Try traveling to one of our 50%+ black cities or god forbid 80%+ and see what you think.

Can attest to this.
t. white cracka living in Detroit

OP meant historically speaking you whiny fags

Because niggers were a big fraction of southern USA, and the whites co-existing with them became racist because niggers gonna nig

Good enough?

How much was that a factor back then? How many people thought" there aren't all like that" back then? Tulsa race riots may have been one big misunderstanding, but white rioters burned it down regardless of niggers nigging or niggers being able to make something like Tulsa.

>poor
I thought it was just racism against all blacks regardless. Posters seem be speaking very generally here.

a slave is considered less then human or are you just new?

see portugals slave trade through the last millenium & the english crowns treatment of australian indiginous: "terra nullis" (land unclaimed, "inhabitants" not human, less than) - greatest genocide of the millenium, 100 million pure bred aboriginal indiginies wiped from the face of the planet, mere sport.

>100 million pure bred aboriginal indiginies wiped from the face of the planet, mere sport
This meme needs to die. There's absolutely no evidence there was anywhere near this many natives in the Americas. 50 million, maybe. 100 million? Fuck no.

>There's absolutely no evidence
did a good job "din' we?"

bonus points for uluru being an all in abo pyramid

I have no idea why southern Yanks are racist against Asians. Historically there weren't even Asians in the regions.

But somehow, they are still racist towards Asians

>50 million, maybe. 100 million? Fuck no.

Source: your ass

>No evidence for anywhere near 100 million natives
>criticize a ballpark measurement based on the evidence at hand
But remember: academics never pull shit out of their asses to serve a political purpose

>Tulsa race riots may have been one big misunderstanding, but white rioters burned it down regardless of niggers nigging or niggers being able to make something like Tulsa.

Oklahoma isn't a very good example of the south. It wasn't part of the "Dixie south" and though indians did own slaves the civil war was more of an extension of preexisting tribal conflicts there. It was also the most socialist state in the country, with more socialist party chapters than any other state. There were many all black towns and communities, though Tulsa itself wasn't.

Tulsa was a boom town though, and as multiple people have said it's the whites who live near/around blacks that historically have been the most racist, and the same is true for Tulsa.

Even today it's whites who live around blacks that predominantly consider race issues climactic. It's also where Trump does best.

Ethnic conflict was maintained and encouraged by the slave owning elite. The poor whites needed to believe that nigs deserved to be enslaved and as whites they were better, because the slave economy did not benefit them. Slavery kept wages down for white people.

But was also probably because human beings can't seem to get along without conflict over ethnic lines. I dont' subscribe to any racialized view of man, but it's pretty clear that multiculturalism and multi ethnic societies fail, mainly because ethnicities unwillingness to work together.

The South is where all the African Americans live

Even after slavery, there were still very restrictive laws against blacks and most had no opportunities other than sharecropping. Blacks could face reprisal for trying to become involved politically, especially during Reconstruction. Not that Northerners weren't or aren't racist. They just tend to be less overt about it.

Many people in the south blame black people for the fall of the Confederacy.

>Many people in the South blame black people for what is wrong with the South in general
FTFY. It isn't wrong either.

Its always amazing to see Northerners talk about the South as if they know a damn thing.

Most people that live around blacks are "racist" user

That's not a map of the South, what you have is a highlighted area of the Deep South.

>why is the South racist?
Why are you acting like racism isn't prevalent in the North or any other part of the US? Post-9/11 you had a wave of homicides and hate crime particularly in areas like New Jersey, New York. and other northern states against Middle Easterners for example.

Also according to US Census Bureau the most dangerous and violent states in 2016 are:

>Maryland
>Arkansas
>Delaware
>South Carolina
>Louisiana
>Florida
>New Mexico
>Tenseness
>Nevada
>Alasaka

Look at how there's a running theme in the majority of these states along with others like Michigan or Illinois and California of a large number of minorities who are prone to violent crime, its a natural correlation.

I don't think that phrase means what you think it means, especially because the man who wrote it was a slaveowner.

>Quotations around racist
For what purpose?

Because slavery

>why is the south racist?

you're implying that the rest of the country isn't, trust me, you'll find just as much institutionalized racism in Chicago, Detroit, or Philly as you will in the south.

But generally yes, the south has had larger racial problems than the rest of the country due to the legacy of slavery and high concentration of blacks. Basically, after the Civil War blacks were seen as tools of the north. It was a common trope in the south that "negroes" were naturally docile unless provoked by northerners. There was some truth to this as during Congressional Reconstruction the Republicans disenfranchised whites and put blacks in control of the south during reconstruction in an attempt to hold control of congress. This eventually came to an end and during the turn of the 20th century southern progressives began pushing for Jim Crow laws claiming that blacks were the pawns of northern industrialists and were holding back progress. This view persisted well into the mid 20th century. The Civil Rights Era started a public backlash towards southern segregation making racism less socially acceptable. This combined with the great migration (pic related) where many blacks moved out of the south weakening the need for open racism to protect white power.

tl:dr Whites tend to be liberal on race relations until it impacts them. My favorite example is New England's general support of southern school integration only to chimp out when it was later pushed on them.

>southern Yanks

>muh class struggle revisionism

Lingering sentiment from WWII, Korea and 'Nam desu. Niggers used to hate them because they were gandydancers during Reconstruction and when they tried to move West with the railroads they were told to fuck off and were replaced by chinks and Irishmen.

The clothes he's wearing are not at all consistent with the era.

t: colonial eggspert

hate breeds hate. The south was primarily where most of the slaves were. They didnt want to give up their slaves, they hated the slaves for dis obeying them and being considered humans. 200 years later and hate is still breeding hate. All those racist red necks today could be rich racist red necks if slaves were still about. So they pretty much blame them for their shitty lives. Plus the south is right on the border to mexico, most people are racist if they have to deal with different cultures and racist on a daily basis.

Probably because something something oppression against the white man.

>Ethnic conflict was maintained and encouraged by the slave owning elite. The poor whites needed to believe that nigs deserved to be enslaved and as whites they were better, because the slave economy did not benefit them. Slavery kept wages down for white people.

Perfectly described what happened. Nail on the head.

>But was also probably because human beings can't seem to get along without conflict over ethnic lines. I dont' subscribe to any racialized view of man, but it's pretty clear that multiculturalism and multi ethnic societies fail, mainly because ethnicities unwillingness to work together.

Those issues in the south weren't inevitable because of race. It's inevitable because of class struggle. Class struggle has a more important affect on societies than homogeneous ethnicity...

Because it was instituationalized over centuries

>Southern Yanks
They'd shoot you for calling them that

>Texas in deep south
>not virginia
jfc get better maps before you ask stupid questions.

why do lefties ignore that it was the working class populists who disenfranchised blacks and not the rich planters. The rich planters would rather have bought their votes.

>texas
>deep south
It's southwest user. Cowboys and desert, not plantations and racism.

>southern
>Yanks
Pick one

Planter elites had no real stake in the legality of slaves. Had they been freed, they would only need to pay a wage as opposed to free labor. These people weren't going to be bankrupted by the lack of free labor. Just lower profits.

Poor whites faced disenfranchisement aswell. The elites didn't want uneducated workers voting in their elections/law decisions either. But the working class whites saw themselves the most affected victims. The whites had a natural instinct to not free slaves because of the inevitable rise in the demand for labor. Elites fanned racial tensions inorder to keep higher profits. "In the free market, you whites are going to give up your livelihood to blacks?! NO!". They didn't care either way. but in a certain case, they would become richer and yield far greater profits.

Virginia was never culturally part of the deep south.

We have more in common with Pennsylvania than Alabama.

What came first? The racism or the crime stats?

The racism, but now all of the people who were racist before that are dead or in nursing homes, and the people who are racist now are racist because of crime.

It's a really unfortunate historical fact that crime in the US doubled in between 1963 and 1980. We know now that it was lead poisoning, increasing inner city poverty and drug pandemics.

But it still fucked race relations to this very day.

The amount that poor southern whites and southern blacks have in common is astounding. Poverty is the problem.

The amount they don't have in common is also astounding. Southern blacks are at the very root of every single detrimental stat the South has, not poor Southern whites.

>Southern blacks are at the very root of every single detrimental stat the South has

Southern whites dindu nuffin, it was the coons who were in charge of the south all along, really vile shit

>every other race on earth assimilates and prospers
>niggers are the only ones who should not be held accountable for their own welfare because fuccboi user says so

Because they have to live near blacks and/or Mexicans.

>Virginia
>Deep South

This. The states we're closest to are PA, MD, and DW.

>it's a coincidence that the people who entered society from a position of abject poverty are the ones with an achievement gap

weak sauce

>Every other race assimilates
What now? And Are we just gonna ignore the ones who do? Anons even prefaced by saying poor, meaning there is some kind of distinction between the group.

Slavery was the engine to the economy in the south. The South argued that States retained the right to govern their industry as individual states, rather than be forced to follow a National policy presented by "the north" that would inherently destroy their way of life. Their way of life was agriculture on a massive scale. A scale that dictated the use of free labor. Mechanized farm equipment was a mere few years away, and Lincoln ripped from the south their sole means of obtaining a lively hood, for an ill thought out plan loose niggers on the country, and plunge the Nation into a blood fued that would claim more lives than the US involvement in WW1 and WWII combined.

Lincoln was particularly stupid because mechanized farm equipment was a few short years away from feasability, and instead chose to rip the south's means to life out from under them, with no viable alternative.

now look at what we have. Niggers are domestic terrorists who, in the span of a calender year, have destroyed parts of two cities (ferguson, Baltimore), indiscrimintely attack law officers and civilians, disrupt daily life and comerce in their cities in the name of felons and child molesters, and have rendered Chicago a warzone, with a murder rate to rival Fallujah Iraq, or an afghani city

Poorest societies in America are white. They fail to have the same gaps that blacks do.

There isn't. A nigger is a nigger. From Jay-Z to Dequan from the block. There's no difference at heart.

Isn't like 5% responsible for violent crime. I mean it is more than other groups, but that leaves 95% that aren't.

>Planter elites had no real stake in the legality of slaves.

yes they did. Slaves were capital, freeing them would definitely hurt you. That's like saying it doesn't matter if your home ownership is taken away because you can still pay rent to live there. Also 1/3 of southern household owned slaves at one time or another so it was definitely economically important for a lot of people to keep slavery.

>Poor whites faced disenfranchisement aswell.

that doesn't change the fact that most were not and that disfranchisement were focused on poor blacks

>Elites fanned racial tensions inorder to keep higher profits.

how the fuck does racial tensions keep higher profits? because otherwise poor blacks and whites were going to band together in solidarity like some Marxist wet dream? That wasn't going to happen, Populists had already tried to attract black voters in the early 1890s without much success (outside NC). Bourbon Democrats (the rich) were pretty successful in courting black voters. Like I've said numerous times, it was the progressives that sought to disenfranchise black voters aka "Purify" the vote.

Texshit will never, EVER be a western state no matter how much its inhabitants delude themselves to the contrary.

>Virginia was never culturally part of the deep south.

yes they were, most of the settlers of the deep south were virginians. Virginia only began to lose its "southerness" after the Civil Rights Era.

>a nigger is a nigger
Not really. Behavioral science kinda depends on there being differences between people of the same race too. You're not even describing a bell curve anymore ironically. Not even /pol/ believes that, what are you on about?

>Behavioral science kinda depends on there being differences between people of the same race too. You're not even describing a bell curve anymore ironically. Not even /pol/ believes that
Cool story. I don't care.

>what are you on about?
Personal experience. Something every man who has lived among the negro knows. Something that people like you will never understand. The South is how it is because that's the reality of the situation. No white man's burden, no psychological or other behavioral explanations, no governmental interference changes the reality that is niggatry. A nigger is a nigger is a nigger at heart. Ben Carson, sleep little neurosurgeon? Tried to kill two people. Barack Obama, Harvard Law and POTUS? Noted for outbursts of heavy violence and poor financial spending. You can take the nigger out the ghetto, but you can't take the nigger out of the nigger.

You have zero idea what you are talking about. There is a big difference between being part of the Deep South and being part of simply The South. Virginia was already well on its way to industralizing before the Civil War actually broke out.

Shut your mouth you dumb cunt. Majority of Virginian settlers went to Texas or the Mid West, not the Deep South.

>poor societies in rural areas don't have the same opportunities for drug related organized crime that poor societies in urban areas do

Virginia was always amongst the most liberal Southern states and I'd like to see proof of it being culturally like the Bible Thumping Deep Southern states.

Spoiler alert: rural niggers act like city niggers

A nigger is a nigger huh? Interesting. I've never attempted murder. All of my family on my grandmother's side has never been involved in crime. In fact, they all went to college, and nearly all of them are doing well for themselves. Funny, that.

But, I guess a nigger is a nigger. If we're basing our arguments off of shitty anecdotes then I guess we live in entirely different worlds.

>the I'm actually a nigger even though I'm the pastiest white boy the world has ever seen argument
Wew

>t. butthurt novafags

>he thinks the average homicide in the US is chimping out and not people killing each other on behalf of gangs

Spoiler alert: It's not. Gangs are the main determinant here.

they elected segregationists to congress until the civil rights era, how is that liberal? Of course it's not exactly like the deep south but it shares a stronger historical connection with the deep south than fucking Pennsylvanian like the autist above said.

Beat me to it. Fuck Nova and their cuckoldry

Which is why the most common murder charge is second degree meaning no premeditated intent. Let's face it, you're grasping at straws.

I don't really give a fuck if you believe me or not, what the hell would I have to gain from lying about my race? I'm black and I don't conform to your stereotype and neither does my family.

You should really consider killing yourself at this point, before you meet someone like me in real life. I'm not sure your underdeveloped mental faculties could handle a violation of your fundamental racial "truths".

>You should really consider killing yourself at this point, before you meet someone like me in real life.
Likewise. You wouldn't know what to do with us if you caught us.

Charlottesville isn't NOVA.

I mean, I fully understand that we're cancer, but we're not NOVA, we're like Austin is in Texas.

t. retard who samefags his (You)s to himself

How does that make Virginia culturally the same as the Deep South? Maryland was going to succeed as well until Lincoln had the state garrisoned. I'm still waiting for that evidence of it being like the Deep South because its apparent you don't know anything about my state.

>succeed

(You)

There are no connected, historical, or anything else grouping or linking Virginia or Maryland with the Deep South, both which are part of the upper limits of the Southern borders within the Mason-Dixie lines.

>this is your best comeback

>people who never go outside or talk to people complaining about people they dont talk to or see

Its not them, its you.

T. Someone who lives by blacks and mexicans and everything else

>. A nigger is a nigger is a nigger at heart. Ben Carson, sleep little neurosurgeon? Tried to kill two people.
What white serial killers that terrorized the US thoughout the 70s/80s? Not to mention the Whites that were in charge of things like the Phoenix Program?
>Barack Obama, Harvard Law and POTUS? Noted for outbursts of heavy violence and poor financial spending.
I dont even have time to list the amount of white domestic abusers or those with poor financial sense.

Why is it that if a black does it, it's a genetic fault, it it isn't of a white does it?

>Oh no a typo!

>NoVA
>cancer
Since when? Because we don't recognize ourselves as rednecks and are well educated as well as understanding we're part of a greater tri-state metropolitan community involving DC and Maryland ?

What about*

>he thinks second degree means the murder wasn't actually premeditated
>he thinks this isn't just because you have to go to trial to get a first degree murder but people will plead to second degree

Loving every laugh.

You're the reason that AWBs keep getting proposed in the House of Delegates.

Go away, we've seen what the beltway crowd did to Maryland, and we want no part of it.

Nah, I just don't give a fuck. We both know you're white.

>What white serial killers that terrorized the US thoughout the 70s/80s?
What about the black ones that made Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, New York, Baltimore etc. unlivable hell holes? When white people do it it makes the news because it's the fucking exception.

>I dont even have time to list the amount of white domestic abusers or those with poor financial sense.
These people aren't supposed to be the best and brightest of the race now are they? The best and brightest of the niggers are just as niggish as the poorest and dumbest. There's no difference.

Learn what a typo is, that wasn't typo.

You're not southern, you're literally carpetbagger liberal trash.

>they elected segregationists to congress
That doesn't make the culture the same, parity does not work that way.
>until the civil rights era
Several other non-Southern and even Northern states were favoring Jim Crow and segregationist views as well. Are you going to tell me Oklahoma or Texas are the same as South Carolina and New York culturally?
>how is that liberal
Why are you moving the goal posts? I said Virginia was among the most liberal Southern states. You intentionally took my statement, and made a strawman to turn the phrase to imply it was some 21st century version of itself which was clearly not what I was stating.
>stronger historical connection with the Deep South
It does not. It was already urbanizing and industralizing before the Civil War and plantations were becoming increasingly rarer in the Virginian commonwealth unlike its more Antebellum neighbors. The only connection it shared is slavery.

>There are no connected, historical, or anything else grouping or linking Virginia or Maryland with the Deep South,

I'm not talking about Maryland. Virginia was the largest southern state throughout the 19th century and a majority of the deep south was settled by Virginians. Literally half their early governors and senators were born in Virginia. They brought their slaves and plantation culture with them. Virginia was very closely tied with the rest of the south historically until the post-ww2 era.
