Asgore certainty meant well, but it is said that Toriel is the brains of the Dreemur operation. I think it can be assumed that she helped temper what Asgore said to Chara so they didn't feel as pressured, but Asgore did unintentionally leave Chara with a lot of pressure on their shoulders.

Some story permutations can sound interesting, but I rather like fan fiction that more just extends the lore. At the end of the day if I want to see more content of my favorites, I'd like it not to be just another altered version of the same story over and over again.
