>it's a "I'm making sprites and models but I don't even know what my game will be" dev

who spacejam here?

Literally me

Anime Game Dev Graveyard

That's what gets the (you)s

>When you're trying to dev but you keep thinking about her instead

I didn't appreciate pointers until I couldn't use them anymore
I miss you

What kind of game are you making for Space Jam? Reminder that 36 people joined the Jam.

Gundam colony gassing and dropping sim

I've already given up so you won't find this in there. posting what i had so far tho

>D-Do you want to program for my game, user? I-I can do the art assets! I can even pay you!

making a 3rd person platformer on the moon figting russians during cold war. donut steel

If you make lots of money from gamedev you might just win her over

I know. I have no time to rewatch K-On!!

But I will anyway, I have to see her again.

This is your artist tonight.

STG/Shmup/Shoot em' up

>jam hasn't even started yet
>given up
WHY.tiff

(you) for not posting anime
keep up the good work

What would reviewers say about your finished game?

This anime is the worst thing to happen to agdg since mothdan

>MC has my job
>reminds me vaguely of a team I used to work with
>got a good chuckle out of her not knowing the first thing about 3D despite getting a job
>cute girls

I'll probably drop it but it made me happy for awhile.

>ITT things that never happen

>he doesn't remember vulkanposting
Also fuck you, if anime triggers you you need to get out

"10/10 - It doesn't exist" - IGN

I think I need to drop out of Space Jam. This game I'm working on is looking way too ambitious, and if I start to seriously put time and effort into it, I think I'll wind up neglecting Dungeon Break, which I don't want to do.

Alternatively, I could polish up my old game BURGER which was about racing giant Russian mutant-pacmen-things to collect the most burgers in order to stack them up and reach the moon first in the Space Race.

It's an old game though, so that might be cheating as far as the Space Jam is concerned.

Either way I'm going to pool my efforts into Dungeon Break, and come back to this game when I have the time to properly develop it.

...

>an interesting and creative first effort, but ultimately unrewarding and just plain unfun, for diehard fans of [genre] only

Why does this place produce garbage such as this?

I didn't know No Man's Sky dev came here

Ok I'm gonna try doing it again
Hope I don't get warned this time

did the paws improve from yesterday?

Are the official demoday tier rankings out yet?

Please don't.
It's just two weeks, you can take a break form DB then go back to it right after the Jam. I was looking forward to playing this.

It's shit

>36 people
You mean 36 nodevs.

me

>game jam
>nodevs
No user you are the nodev

They're already out.

>tfw all UE4 default assets will always look better than anything I can do

I'm making an SRPG. I can't wrap my head around how to keep track of where a cursor or unit is on the grid.

Right now I'm saving the position of each tile, putting them in an array, and then looking them up based on the cursor's position. That seems reasonable, but the way I actually go about it seems really messy. Lots of finding gameobjects to access their attached scripts to access some variable. There's gotta be a better way to do this.

reduce the scope.
skip tutorials and only put a few rooms + a boss.

if people enjoy it they'll ask for more and you can continue after the jam.

Rate my game?

Yeah true, it is only two weeks. Ah jeez, but then that's only two weeks to turn this little concept engine into a full-fledged-playable-thing.

How big are jam games usually, in terms of playable content?

>ywn be a cute anime girl making doujin games with other cute anime girl in your high school gamedev club
Why even live

Looks good but where are all the NPCs (or Non Player Characters)?

What the hell do these bars mean?
Green, green and blue? Really?
>1/11
Don't tell me you're implementing a calendar, you absolute madman.
>Portrait up at all times
Why?

>your high school gamedev club
>implying my high school offered anything besides football scholarships

Have a 2d array list of all tiles.

You give each tile a position x and y on the grid, so if your grid is 50x50 tiles, and your resolution is for example 500x500, you know that if your mouse is at position 400x400, you're looking at the tile at position 40x40.

You don't need the tile to tell you it's position.

in any case her eyes definitely need to glow subtly red in the dark

At least you will never be a potato either.

I'm having my artist gf make them.

This is a bully free zone.

Round faces are cute, fuck you.

Nice. Let's compare notes some time

That's rude as fuck, I don't look like that I have hair

This pleases my autism.

>Indie game dev anime
>There's a programmer, artist, musician and writer
>writer

Yeah, but those are oval.
A shame >Silver Link won't make them as wide as the original art.

*were cute

Holy shit you're making both Dungeon Break and this? You're a motherfucking genius of gamedev or something?

Alright, that makes sense. Thanks.

jokes on you, i just downloaded it

Yeah I was looking forward to this but the anime art style looks generic as fuck.

At least in anime you can probably get a free released 2D or 3D cute girl.

japan thinks games need story because they don't know how to gameplay

Girls are never interested in making games, only in anime.

You ever seen some girl-made games in real-life? They're all shit like Depression Quest and Gone Homo.

>What is Neptunia

>implying this wasn't my plan all along
It actually wasn't but either way, enjoy and tell me what you think!

I fucking hate this lighting. It seems like it's coming from below on their hair but from above on the rest of their body. Are their eyes light sources or something?

Nah no genius, they're both just ideas I've been sitting on for forever, but /agdg/ has been awesome about motivating me to actually work on them.
Alright, I'll keep going on my Space Jam project. Thanks for the encouragement :)

>character designer is the whole team

>tfw know a game-loving anime-watching girl my age who isn't an sjw or someone with attention issues
>haven't talked to her in 2 years

>It's a "goal post moving" episode

Maybe they're looking at a computer screen in the 4th wall
Or maybe it's indeed their eyes. Anime eyes are shiny as

Terrible? Even for its genre it's completely stale and generic, and subsists solely on cute girls and memes (Except they're Japanese memes so they're cool unlike baka gaijin western memes amirite nakama-tachi?)

i had actually already downloaded it
i am the cheating or not cheating user from a day or two ago trying to get the costume

so desu ne anonymous-chan, I hyaku paacento agree with anata here.

Is she cute though? This is important

>shiny as
It seems user died from over-exposition to anime.

what language is the easiest to port to consoles/handhelds? i know a bunch of assembly but its so cubersome and my game will only ever work on the specific hardware i make it on (snes)

please respond

Thankfully he still had time to solve the captcha and send the post.

he merely became suddenly compelled to make progress from looking at the shining light in a cute anime girls eyes

Unity for modern systems. You probably know that all SNES stuff except for a few things (like Bubsy) were coded in assembly for it.

How do you make sounds like this?

youtube.com/watch?v=ULvXc1EgY20

With 4chanX you can solve the captcha start sending the post while your post timer is counting down. So it's entirely possible that he had it ready to be sent and died while typing the post.

Monogame lets you port to Xbone and PS4 really easily.

PS Vita is dead, Wii U and 3DS are not worth it.

>windows

why is japan such cucks?

Is he called rotate dev because you need to rotate your head looking at his pictures?

In a DAW with a few notes each played by different instruments
Might be able to do it with just two for that effect

>girl-made games
>Gone Homo

You know Gone Home was made by three dudes with a woman doing the environment art right?

animated version where?
but C# since C# -> Unity -> multi deployments

With your mouth.

yea yea i want to shill my game one day. if i make a snes rom it just wont work especially since right now im using sa1 and msu1 enhancement chips so its not even possible to play on anything but bsnes emulator and the programmer gor that is an autistic faggot and keeps ruining it

How do I make art like this?

lol what else would you program a game on user

dont say mac

more progress wow.

It's almost as a real atari game.

Linux is pretty good for programming

4 years at art school

But how are you going to test your game?
