Alright, so, summary.

We left our intrepid heroes with Fugetsu and Waniko squaring off against Izumo, who wasn't having much problem fending them off, Renya was in a sealing tutorial with Tenten, and Arata was getting his face measured for the mask. Waniko and Fugetsu finish their training, and Izumo gives Fugetsu some swordsman tips, increasing his Dexterity by 1 as he learns how to shave off precious seconds from his attacks. Saying their thank-yous and goodbyes, Waniko and Fugetsu decide to go the hot springs to relax their bruised and aching muscles. Waniko doesn't JOIN Fugetsu, get your minds out of the gutter.

Arata, meanwhile, decides to see if he can hunt them down to get their faces measured that same day. He rolls low on a random check to see if he runs into them, but nails an Insight/Investigation check, and has a brainwave - he knew Fugetsu was training, and he also knew Fugetsu had a habit of relaxing after training or being on a mission. Arata heads in and tells Fugetsu to finish up and follow him to Higashi 87, the store that Arata is getting the masks from. Hearing a rustling from the divider between the male and female's baths, Waniko's "I'll be there!" floats across, as both of them notice an eye quickly disappearing from a crack in the wall.

The three of them make it back to the store before it closes. Assistant-kun takes note of the Ame and Kiri headbands, and his full racism mode is engaged, refusing to serve them since Arata didn't mention that his teammates weren't from Konoha. Needless to say, the ninja didn't really like that, and started doing some questioning, asking why their money isn't as good as Arata's. Of course, Arata had already paid the deposit by this point.

Assistant-kun is very hesitant about serving them. It seems he has a few pent-up prejudices over ninja from other Villages - especially Amegakure. Considering Sand invaded them, followed by Rain, he considers it mostly justified. It turns out his daughter was killed during the Pain attack, and despite his Outer Path - Samsara of Heavenly Life technique being showed resurrecting all the 'important' characters, it turned out that Nagato wasn't quite as powerful as he thought he was, and the ability 'skipped over' many souls that had weak or no chakra, preferring to focus it's regenerative abilities on ninja.

At the end of it - with a small amount of sluttiness from Waniko - Assistant-kun decides that, if they're working directly under the Hokage, he can't really refuse them, and takes the measurements. When he's done, he leaves them with a small bit of advice - while the ninja and Kage might be at peace, the average villager hasn't seen much difference. It's still ingrained to them that seeing anything other than a Konoha headband means that someone is going to die soon. Fugetsu says that people should simply quit carrying grudges, to which Assistant-kun replies that it's not that easy if you're rebuilding your store for the fourth time, or you don't know where your next meal is coming from because all your farmlands are gone. He ends by saying that maybe it might have been better if ninja hadn't existed at all, and after Fugetsu said that as long as chakra exists, people will use it for way, said that maybe Madara had been right, then.

His overarching advice was to get a signed Writ of Approval from the Hokage for Waniko and Fugetsu, as flashing that will likely quickly shut down anybody's protestations.

About this time, Nero, Renya's player, decided to show up, about an hour or so late, having missed his alarm.

With Renya present, I decided to finish up his tutorial with Tenten. Last game left off with him successfully sealing a kunai into a scroll well enough that she questioned if he had ever done it before. Having completed the seal, Tenten then launches into the horrifically confusing art of taking a sealed item and unsealing it. After another hour or two (about the time that Arata is finding Fugetsu in the hot springs), Tenten decides to give Renya some help with sealing his spear into the scroll. She stands behind him like that man and woman moulding clay in the movie I forget the name of, and puts her arms outside of his, helping to guide and shape the chakra, but largely leaving the work up to him. With a flash of blue (and a 15 on a Chakra test), the spear is successfully sealed into the scroll.

Tenten notes that the seal is a little bit shakier than the kunai, but that's expected considering the size of the spear (ahem), and it was still great that it worked at all. She reminded him that it wasn't a recursive seal, so unsealing the scroll would burn it out, making it useless. Tenten gives him half a dozen blank scrolls, and tells him to prepare his scrolls ahead of time, so he's not frantically drawing seals onto a scroll mid-combat.

Renya seemed a bit over-excited to get into explosive seals, so Tenten warned him of people having lost hands and fingers to shoddy and improper explosive seal-work.

Skipping over to the other three, they're met by Izumo as they leave Higashi 87, their measurements done. He tells them to head over to Naruto's office, but not to worry, as it's not work-related.

Sorry, I wrote that poorly. Assistant-kun is the one who mused whether Madara had been right, not Fugetsu.

As the three of them make their way to the Hokage's office, Renya picks up a sword from Tenten before leaving - a simple double-bladed sword (as opposed to the single-bladed wakizashi that Fugetsu has). It's not chakra-forged like his teammate's so Tenten advises against running chakra through it, as it would likely explode in his hands. Tenten is in a good mood, and so didn't mention payment for her tutorial, but her inner businesswoman (read: Jewishness) was in motion, so expect her to bring it up next time. She also charged him 175 ninja-shekels for his sword. As he finished up payment, a different Chuunin came in to see him, and gave him a similar message that the other three got - go see the Hokage, but not for mission stuff.

The office just comes into view for Renya as the other three are entering, so they all get there at a similar sort of time. Naruto welcomes them and reassures them that this isn't a work-related meeting. Rather, he's interested in their progress and the roles they would likely take as ninja. He quickly goes over the 'paths' that ninja normally take - in this game, it's the Specialisations I set out before, Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Taijutsu, Bukijutsu (weaponry) or Medical Jutsu. While these aren't the only options available to them, they're the most common.

Fugetsu was asked first what area he'd likely focus his talents on, and Fugetsu answered, saying he'd likely spend his time increasing his skill with his Boil Release, as is likely expected of him by his family back in Kiri.

There would likely be some elders who were still alive when Hashirama killed Madara. Remember, only like 80-90 years passed from their final battle at the Valley of the End. He was a living legend in Konohagakure, and not just amongst the shinobi.

Following on from Fugetsu, Naruto asks Waniko what she'd like to achieve. She answers with Intonjutsu - the IRL art of disappearing, stealth and escape. Naruto needed Shikamaru to explain what Intonjutsu exactly WAS, but once he got the hint, he was interested, as not many shinobi actually CHOSE to be stealthy, considering, you know, breathing fire and shit. He mentioned that Lord Zedd had said she had a preternatural skill with stealth and remaining unseen. He also said he might be able to find a tutor for her, but more on that later. Out-of-character, Planewrong was surprised that Naruto knew what the word 'preternatural' meant. I said he only knew because that was the exact word Lord Zedd had used on Waniko's application, and he had had to go to a dictionary to find out it's definition.

Moving onto Renya, he quickly answered with Fuinjutsu, or - as we all know - sealing techniques. Naruto was surprised again, as most average Genin don't select things like stealth and sealing as their main focuses. Then again, he considered, the team wasn't 'average Genin', and that's exactly why they had been chosen. Asking what Renya planned to do, Renya answered, very simply, 'Blow things up', to which Naruto said he sounds like he should've been from Iwa (you know, the Explosion Corps...). Despite being an Uzumaki, Naruto admits knowing very little about sealing, and simply suggests he continue his apprenticeship to Tenten, as she's probably the premiere sealing expert in the Village at the time.

Finally, Naruto poses the question to Arata. Arata takes one for the team and says he wants to be the healslut and learn general chakra control. Naruto nods and, after confirming that Arata has the willpower to learn one of the most demanding shinobi skills, says he knows one of the foremost medical ninja in the world and can probably set him up with her as a tutor.

Before they leave, Waniko and Fugetsu remember Assistant-kun's advice, and quickly explain the run-in with him at Higashi 87. Naruto is, understandably, upset that racism is still running rampant throughout his non-shinobi citizens. He laments that he can't keep an eye on everyone at all times, and even if he could, he wouldn't, as that is what separated Konoha from places like Iwa, pre-Third Shinobi World War. Nevertheless, he quickly does up two letters, one for each of them, saying that they're officially here at his request and working under his authority, before signing then and putting the Hokage's seal on them.

They leave his office, and the game ends with the four of them heading their separate ways: Waniko and Fugetsu head off to their nightly dinner date at Ichiraku's, Arata heads back to the Fujita compound to check on the status of the mutant plant sample he dropped in between Missions I and II, and Renya has...a little errand to attend to.

And that's where we'll pick up this Saturday, unless I'm super busy moving, which I likely will be, in which case it'll be Sunday. Stay tuned for more shenanigans, as Mission III: Being the Bad Guys will officially kick off then, after two games of bumming around doing a whole lot of this, that and the other.

Also she is set up as a pretty conflicted character, haunted by memories of people she could not save, a master healer with haemophobia, and some of the most bittersweet scenes of the series involve her.

She fails to continue to deliver on all that once she becomes Hokage, but she does enough for her to have plenty of merit, and more importantly, doujins.

I guess I shouldn't have worded it that way. Each of those girls do have something going for them, just for me personally there's nothing I find appealing.

I'd love for Kishi to explore more regarding Tsunade. Broken characters are interesting for me, and broken girls can be very cute. It's a shame that was mostly dropped as soon as she became Hokage, apart from that one short period before she sends Jiraiya off to investigate Pain but that's pretty much overshadowed by Naruto's reaction to his death which was executed much better than anything they could've done with Tsunade.

I guess the main thing I don't care for in these three is that none of them are cute. Ino's a slut, sorry, Karui's aggressive and loud, Tsunade's tits are too pig and she's again loud and aggressive.

Tsunade is not a take on Sakura, but rather Sakura had Tsunade's moves bolted onto her, and was made to be a bit more similar to her in acting out her inner self (low impulse control?). There's a difference of a lifetime's worth of experience and service to others that earns Tsunade the right to be occasionally mouthy while Pinkshit was a loud bitch for no reason.

The whole arc was just Kishi trying to kill the series off so he could finally rest. The following arcs were contrived to the point tghat the seriwes became just as unreadable as Bleach, so Kishi finally got his wish.

Now Shueisha's even pushed it off onto some other shmuck.

Naruto already had Pain and Obito. Sasuke had Itachi. Shikamaru had Hidan. And Kakashi also had Obito. She needs a Akatsuki member she needs to defeat personally and I think there is enough parallels between her and Konan for a good fight.

And no, Sasori doesn't count since he was pretty much Chiyo's Akatsuki antagonist.

4. Act like more of a friend to Naruto then just a colleague. It often feels like she just tolerates him because they are on the same Team.

Meanwhile Orihime is the Hinata/Chichi/Keiko, the girl who's less helpful from a practical point but has feelings for the main character and gets with him at the end.
