I'm legitimately worried I'm just not going to enjoy the Future Arc that much because I just can't bring myself to care about what happens with the DR1 survivors. I wish I did, I try to convince myself I do, but I just don't. So I'm really hoping one of these new characters ropes me in, because if I'm not invested in what happens to anybody... Ugh

Literally the only new character you're going to like is Munakata because he's going to have most screentime. Or he'll probably die.

The killing game is the most unecessary thing I've ever seen. Future Arc could have been just a cool comfy drama politics thriller in the Foundation.

I pretty much only care about Kyouko, who is pretty much certain to die, Touko and Byakuya.
The new characters look uninteresting to me for now, we'll see how it goes.

I understand but don't really agree with the sentiment that you don't want to see your favorite characters fall into despair. Tbqh I can't wait to see that whole Twilight Murder Syndrome thing, or Izuru, or whatever the fuck Junko did to the others

Some of them you can probably already work out, but some of them are pretty hard to figure out. I can't wait to see how all of the shit plays out.

But I do care on what will drive them towards despair. The problem is I haven't seen Kodaka be good at making genuinely unsettling things.

What I want from the Despair Chapter is a slow descent to insanity. I want to see the men and women of SDR2 slowly break, piece by piece. Push them into an edge, force them to do things, horrible horrible things. Betray their own ideals because of the circumstances. I want to see some thrilling social manipulation. Pls Kodaka.
