Ace Combat 7 has been confirmed to return to Strangereal. VR equipment will not be required to play the game.
Nothing notable to fight for, and yet we will endure

F-35 a shit plane.

4th for F-4, assuring local air supremacy over Sukhois.

The F-35 could kick your planefu's ass though

My planefu is the F-22.

>F-35 fags this delusional.

8th for WW1/early WW2 soviet training methods.

That exercise happened in 2010.

Tbh until the f-22 gets the level of sensor fusion that the f-35 has the f-35 still wins, even moreso outside 1v1

Seeing as I'm too retarded to read the thread I'll just repeat again

Any of you know how to remove excess glue spillage?

Any of you working on any model?

Use fine grit sandpaper to remove excess glue.

Kinematic performance aside, the F-35 is significantly less stealthy than the F-22, and both sides have LPI radars.

This means that if both sides use their radar, the F-22 will be able to target and attack the F-35 first.

Reminder that the F-22 production was halted in part because of the Growler.

Would 150 grit be good enough?

Try it. As long as you're not removing model detail it should be fine.

The existence of infinity puts me off the entire series after 6 to be honest.

I still like AHL but infinity leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.

Sure, maybe in a 1v1. But in a realistic environment, the ability to synthesize readings from multiple radars on different craft is a pretty big edge

That's just moving the goalposts.

>but infinity leaves a horrible taste in my mouth.
Why or in what sense? Just the jew system?

Jew fuel + Muh Strangereal + Being generally tolerated

yes, it's probably autism. Something about shoehorning Strangereal setpieces into real life bothers me. It makes it feel even more like a Jewish cashgrab.

Since my PS3 is out of commission right now, I'd like to ask for help from one of you kind anons. Long story short, I'm making a tool for Infinity, and I need help making sure I have all the gifs for the Sp.Weapons. I'll be posting the ones I have, the file name telling what weapon they correspond to. If I'm missing any, or one of them applies to multiple weapons, please tell me.

I disagree, but your reasons are understandable. Although the real life setting of Joint Assault was fine, Assault Horizon really sullied it. I don't mind the way they are doing it, though, since it lets them vary and change some things to the location. e.g. Avalon Dam having 2 tunnels instead of 1, Stonehenge being much more involved, the AssHorizon locations having much more color. Besides, with the Ulysses meteor strike and gameplay, this might as well be Strangereal in everything but name, shape, and history pre-1994.

...

...

I can speak to the general tolerance, at least in /aceg/, as the result of a lack of viable alternatives
6 has godawful netcode, AH's servers are all offline, not like it was worth much to begin with, and JA is a portable title with all that entails

And?

...

How is JA with PPSSPP?

To be completely honest I don't miss Strangereal except for the geographic features. Every game that was set in in save for AC3 had either no story or generally something "so bad it's actually really awful" based on IRL events twisted to make them incredibly onesided.

You and yourself buddy

Come again?

I dunno, I feel like that - intentionally or not - helps the thing.

Like you can look at the Belkan war as "oh no, Belka are being so mean" but if you actually look into some of the preceding events instead of taking the most surface-level approach, it's not like Osea isn't being a total bastard too. Many of the surrounding areas were asking for it. Ustio is one of the few that's actually just an innocent area seeking self-determination.

(AND RATIO: GIVE BACK THAT USTIO CLAY YOU THIEVING SMELLY GYPSIES)

One thing I really appreciated from Zero was the fact that there was the possibility of incapacitating pilots without downing them. That split moment of hesitation you get when a plane's target turns yellow is amazing. It helps make you feel like you're fighting against people who happen to be enemies in this situation instead of just "The Big, Bad, Evil Guy."

AC04 would have had the same villainization issue AC5 had with the Belkan Grey Men had it not been for details like learning about Yellow Squadron, the hesitating pilot in Escort, and seeing the state Farbanti was left in after the Ulysses hit.

I forget, was 5 the rushed one?

5 seems to have a lot of the building blocks for a sad story, but sort of cop out towards the end by making Belkans unambiguously evil (instead of say, just wanting back South Belka.) so that you can feel bad about killing Yuktobanians.

>taking the most surface-level approach
Yeah, that's the thing, the games give you little info other than the Soviet Union tier propaganda that is shoved down your mouths. If you want to see the "real" story you have to google translate japanese shit, some of which IIRC doesn't even exist anymore.

I don't know about rushed since it came out little over 4 years after 04, but yeah, the Gray Men really needed more humanization. Hamilton had ever so slight characterization, with genuine rage and resentment behind his words in ACES, but that needed justification.
I haven't read much outside material besides Pixy working for ISAF, but I think the Zero does a pretty good job of justifying all sides and giving them all some fault. The only thing 04 would've had to mention was Erusea being forced to deal with all these incoming refugees after Ulysses hit and it would've been perfect.

Doesn't 4 also leave it ambiguous that Erusea was fascist before the crisis?

The people of San Salvacion, including the narrator and maybe some of your fellow pilots, called them Fascists, but I don't think that's really delved into. I don't think it's mentioned in any briefing, is it? Speaking of, is the guy who gives the briefings given a name, title, or even a position?

...

Plane list for the RPG now includes:

Anything I'm missing?

>I think the Zero does a pretty good job of justifying all sides and giving them all some fault
If you don't know anything about Prussia and Germany it only makes Belka look like they deserve everything they get.

Props

If you compare them, absolutely. However, I'm talking about the game's own merits.

And so am I. Osea and Yuktobania come off as imperialistic, opportunistic shitstains only if you start drawing parallels with real life, and fill the huge gaps left by the games with real life stuff.

I do remember the game making that implication during the course of the game, for example, Brett Thompson saying the treaty made after the nukes set off heavily favored OSEA, and Gault Squadron saying the negotiations were all a squabble over who gets the larger slice of pie.

...

BAe Hawk

Even with just the in-game data, Osea comes across as exploitative.

I forget if the game explicitly uses the words "taking advantage of the situation" but it definitely shows territory ceded to Osea.

Yuktobania seems less imperialist in all this, being too far away to gain territory, and more of a "Why are you even here except to build up WW2 parallels?"

Amx

>Yuktobania: Why are you even here?
Was there even a Yuktobanian who joined A World With No Boundaries?

I believe there was at least one. I think you shoot them down over Avalon.

I need to look that up then.

...

fuck off desu

i like the .gifs

then your autism is at full scale

Says the person who has difficulty ignoring posts he dislikes, which keep the thread bumped :^)

xD

You must be new here. The goal of this thread is to keep it alive even if its mindless banter.

whoops. meant to reply to this guy.
just for you :^)

>posts filthy Frank
>whines about autism
ok

...

That is if you listen to the Belkans, which ACZ threats as sore losers that would say anything for making themselves look better, and AC5 threats as just pure psychopaths.

I'm talking about the OBC documentary, actually.
Their graphics show Belka cede territory before the war, because Osea is taking advantage of internal troubles (We can assume good faith on the part of Ustio, etc, as self-determination, but Osea's just being greedy unless those lands are culturally/ethnically Osean anyway.)

Post-war this is rubbed in even more if North Osea is governed from Oured officially, instead of just being a puppet state. (The political status of North Osea still confuses me, whether it was annexed, made a semi-autonomous region of Osea, or just cut off from Belka as a new state.)

Judging by the Osean flag, North Osea became a state of Osea proper

Aaaaand here's the last one I have. Again, if I'm missing any, please inform me which ones.

>I'm talking about the OBC documentary, actually.
Well now I have an excuse for replaying both AC5 and ACZ. But still, I'm really strongly convinced that if you didn't know what the Belkan war was based the game would come off as extremely onesided 'murikan stand in wanking.

Also I'm pretty sure they got annexed and got ruled with an iron fist.

While we're here, would you mind uploading them into our mega?
For some reason SPW short animations feel soothing.

Yeah sure, although I'm pretty sure I'm missing quite a few, specifically the ones like the ESM, the ones from special planes like the ADMM, EML, MSTM, stuff like that.

*what the Belkan war was based on
That said all this talk about AC's plot makes me really sad that we will never get a new game that goes back to the arcade roots.

Any of you read the salvation war?
It opens up with a pretty sweet engagement between super hornets and literal demons

By Stuart Slade? Wasn't that the cringiest powerfantasy fapfiction of all time?

Shut up demon sympathizer

Fuck off

Fuck off twice

Naw, I just found it fanfiction tier of badly written and cringe worthy.
Shit, even GATE is better.

Trip up thunder

>meme frank

Die.

GATE was worse because it was NIPPONSTRONK fanwank.

Salvacion war is more H:FY.

Come on, the F4 scenes were gold

So that makes Salvation War better because it's EVERYONE STRONK fanwank?
GATE at least had decent character interaction and development.

Quit being a weeb

But I'm not. A weeaboo thinks EVERYTHING from Japan is superior.
I know from experience that their cars are shit.

GATE at least had decent character interaction and development.

I can't directly refute you, since I didn't watch the anime, but I am high skeptical of that claim.

Could you perhaps show some examples or otherwise demonstrate that "GATE at least had decent character interaction and development." While the Salvation War series did not?

I didn't watch the anime, just read the comics.
I mean, it's nothing too fancy or great, no feat of literature art or such shit, but it's there whereas Salvation War kinda just was there.

>comics

salvation war on the other hand is MERIKASTRONK fanwank.

>Metal Gear General is over
what

Have you ever been there recently?

No, can I get a sector briefing?

It became utter shit. This place is heaven by comparison. Hell even the worst general that you can think of that isn't part the living cancers (eg, /ksg/) was better than /mgg/.

Was it nuked off Veeky Forums or did they all agree on pulling the plug?

That I don't know, I left weeks if not months ago. But if you really hate yourself you're free to look it up on Fireden, assuming it didn't die again.

It seems like you never even read the material. It's explicitly a multinational effort with tons of screen time by characters who aren't american.

You prefer picture books instead?

Posting this cuz I just found it. Comfy listening to this while eating.

That ain't stance

>Grun 1
Fucking can't understand shit he says, blimey.

REPOHT

Do you really wanna fight it though?

>part of the series, not 3rd party
>limited time only
y tho
I seriously hope all these eventually come to either the goystore or belkanshop. Better yet, just put the challenges under the normal section permanently.

Forget just weapons, were going to be able to choose our partner's aircraft?
