His helmets are pretty good and you can use the laser pointer, light and in some cases the visor or UV eye-piece type things on any number of helmets. The Laser and light will fit almost every helmet, the visor/UV/Heads up displays work on some, not on others.

Should I buy the DLC for Xcom 2? Will it add more story content or will it just give me cool stuff like new classes and customization?

Should I buy it after I beat Xcom 2 or just install it whenever during the story?

Purely cosmetic DLC. Usefulness debated on, but it does add a lot more stuff.

Challenge DLC. New weapons, new story mission, as well as three new aliens whose sole goal is to make your life as miserable as possible(and they usually succeed).

New story mission, as well as an entirely new robot class, with it's own unique weapons, abilities, etc.

I'd just get the reinforcement pack for all three. If you change your mind mid campaign, and buy one of the DLCs which have a story mission, you won't get the chance to run through them(but still get the content)

I'm actually in the middle of the campaign. It was after you find the Advent from the Codex. Is it too late to add the DLC for story? I want to play the missions chronologically if I can, or at least during the whole story.

Absolutely, it is. You have to start a fresh campaign with the DLC enabled in order to get their unique missions.

You'll get a prompt for the content, but the missions won't appear iirc

So, I just upgraded from a 5-year old toaster laptop to a fullscale i7 gaming desktop, /xcg/. Installing X2 now, super looking forward to a new campaign with brilliant and bright visuals.

Here's the question though, /xcg/: do I start a new campaign or do I finish the one I was playing on my toaster? and does anyone want mission recaps?

I like how this entire thing sounds:

Reverse-engineering Ayy tech with magic really can go anywhere: You start out slow with your reaction times to respond to the alien threat and limited to one or two castles in your kingdom but, as you recover more Elerium/Alloys/MELD you get to the point were time and space are on your side as you can get (and aid) to the other kingdoms with more and more quicker means. And you will need to help them and eventually arm them as well because the aliens will eventually escalate the invasion and you will be hard pressed to contain it all from your kingdom alone.

The snipers don't need that much cover so there is usually more than enough to handle the first few patrols.

also after 300 hours of xcom2 i discovered how great is it to pop concealment with specialists

Do aim penalties still apply to overwatch when ambushing with only a phantom being concealed? Not sure how that works.

Came back after months to play some XCOM2 and it's still buggy but not only that, patches have ruined essential mods that should be a part of the base game! Number one on the list is stop wasting my time which is so much better than firaxis shitty attempt with zip mode.

Frames are better but the pauses are still there and so immersion breaking. With zip mode on it still has ayys getting shot> thinking about it for who knows how long > then finally dying from said shot. Whoever thinks the game needs that shit in firaxis is a full blown scumbag,

It seems to be broken by the latest patch. I plan to look into it soon.

The only thing that's been "broken" are MECs doing very fast 180° turns while shooting, it's only an animation and nothing regarding the soldiers or skyranger felt off

The mod doesn't work though there is still lags when enemies are killed. It's bullshit that this is acceptable and firaxis should be fired..
