In all actual fact every time Mori 'deconfirms' a character they make their way in so the crazy man is right for once.

That tells us nothing. You can't expect Mori to say that Trinity will be playable now as he'll want to wait for when it will maximize the impact to the player base. Unless Mori clearly states that Trinity will never be playable then there's no real reason to think that she will never get added.

Let's see if there will be any sort of announcement in EVO. I'd love to see Mai getting announced but I'm not expecting much at this point in time.

Mori has never said that a character will never be playable. He might say that it will be hard to make the character work, but that doesn't exclude the possibility that they might get added.

I'd buy if it had a good character balance, at least 12 characters on first release, and two that interested me. I know nothing of RWBY other than people hate it, but story is generally a secondary interest of mine in fighting games.
