I do have to question the in-universe decisions that went into her redesign. Were they trying to "expand their range of appeal" by making the chicken sexy? Seems like a questionable decision to try to attract families, focusing on small children, and additionally an "expanded range of consumers" attracted by that redesign.

Or maybe those affected by Toy Chica's "expanded range of appeal" were the very ones who designed Toy Chica in the first place. It was the 80's, no one knew what a "furry" was, just that anthropomorphic animal characters were getting more rad and hip. Stuff like Toy Chica could probably fly under the radar.

s felt like FNAF is a bit stagnated since the first game. The first game relied less on jump scares and more so on crafting a horror movie atmosphere, wheras the following sequels undid much of the creepiness in favor of more visceral tension-based jump scares.

I'm not gonna say it's automatically shit memescare game. But it's certainly gone in a direction that's opposite of what the first game had. It feels like the overdesigned "edgy" Nightmares, or the watermelon robots have had not a fraction of the impact seeing Bonnie at your door had. Could it be a sequel thing in general? Where it loses the luster? Perhaps, but it feels more like the franchise devolved instead of moved forward. This manifests in how each game is progressively more frenetic and fast-paced than the predecessor.

Instead of savoring the tension like a nice, juicy steak it's wolfed down all at once in the form of a glitched robot or misheard footstep. There's multiple moments in FNAF 1 where you know you fucked up. Foxy's sprint being the most obvious one, but "door stuck" and Freddy going off the grid are also other ones. Less The Thing, and more Paranormal Activity.
