The spell is probably the car; actually, considering that you want Machine Dupe with the scientist, maybe the Scientist lets you change its name to another SPYRAL monster's name and type by sending it from the deck to the graveyard, and the effect of the Drone is something good.

5Ds went down after Signers, but it did NOT go to shit, like Arc-V. Sure the Z-ONE arc fucked a lot of things and I was really let down by not letting Z-ONE be future Yusei/Aki not dueling, but it still had good duels, music and resolution.

Yusei's a giant Mary Sue but so was every other protagonist so he can be forgiven.
