Alternative: Have a portal up by the dock (or by a portal hub, assuming the expansion has one) to go to the island(s).

I don't have that cape recipe so I'll be losing out on a little bit of gold so I'm not sure if it would be better just to wait for the price of windwool to go up then sell it on the AH. I have like 12,000 windwool though so I don't know how long it would take to sell or if it sells quickly at all.
