At what level of differences should I pick element over raw for weapon?
For example, I know I should pick 170 raw instead of 130 raw 18 element weapon, but what if it's 140 raw vs 130 raw 18 element?

Weakness Exploit takes effect when you attack a RAW hitzone that's worth 45+.
In Gen, it increases your Affinity by 50% IIRC.
Affinity is your critical chance.
When you crit, you deal an extra 25% RAW damage.
Affinity does not affect elemental damage, unless you have the Elemental Crit skill.

I'm using a glaive, all new weapon for me so I guess there is some of that

Ignore it, claws are a 20% carve.
You'll probably do better if you simply don't focus on them.

It still works on Raw rounds like Normal/Pierce/Pellet.
Elemental rounds will need you to pair WE with Elemental crit, like everything else.
That said, element not being affected by affinity does have it's perks on bowguns with negative affinity.

Remove Kirin. It's the worst monster in the franchise.
Add literally anything. Diablos would be fine.

so generations is kinda throwing me for a bit of a loop with the way things are upgraded. I chose to run with duals and as I'm well aware all duals come from the basic ones that you buy, usually 3 or in this games case 4. but being able to upgrade will I be able to make one of the basic ones worth while until high rank or is there a set I should be shooting for? speaking of sets what would serve me the best right now? Full set Rathalos plus gems can get you AuM/WE though, and Ceanataur plus gems can get you Razor Sharp/CritEye 2
