You can also go Corsair3(it isn't that good), or maybe Doppel1 for Deeds of Valor if you plan to AA/Cyclone. Could take a look on Highlander as well, but since Skyliner is being heavily nerfed I'm not sure if thats worth anymore.
The build that you want is pretty limited in the game right know, since none of the classes synergy well with the type of end game content that we have.
As for R8, the only thing that seems to use Sword is Murmillo.

The thing about Sword3 is not pvp, is giving you more skills to use with Shinobi clones, since they can only use Swordsman skill(and in a future update some rodelero ones as well I think).
Of course could do that, but your burst damage with clones would fall a LOT.
