So its better to start at the lowest evolution, pump up its CP before evolving, but what if you find a high CP final evolution in the wild? Ignore it and use it for candies and stick with leveling the lower?

The scans are just a snapshot of what it's recently found. You need to refresh your browser to get the most up to date spawns, and a lot of times if it's a brand new spawn it won't show up on your scan UNTIL your scanner hits that grid spot.

I'm currently level 8 and it takes forever to do anything due to living in the countryside. I wanted to save my incubators and lucky eggs for later but I'm really fucking tired of progressing 150 XP at a time and being unable to fight for gyms because every singe one is a stack of 6 mystic fags with CP 1300+ pokemons.

Would it be worth it to spend a lucky egg to hatch three or four 5 km eggs and evolve maybe 10 or so Pokemons? That might get me high enough to at least start fighting for gyms and earn XP this way.

IV's are just hidden, unchangeable stats that determine how good a Pokemon's stats are. They're in all of the main games. Interesting that they're in this too.

If I got Gastly, which is Ghost/Poison, what damage will it take from Normal attacks? Will Normal -> Ghost negate all damage, or will he take some, due to having multiple types?
