Why thaum and not link? Cryo3linknecro2 is a good build and skellies and shog are good enough, especially if you'll be monitoring them on a monitor. You'll want to up skelly damage a decent amount though 30 or if you can afford it 50 attri skels go pretty well

It's not super necessary, linker that is but it will make your life much easier. If I were you I wouldn't go thaum unless i was taking at least two circles of it for swell right hand as well as cryo shield mastery gives you stronk defence both magic and phys.

But in the end it's gonna be a farmer build for you, unless you end up loving if in which case even better, so it really doesn't matter about the first 5 ranks so long as you get necro2

As an Elementalist C3, should I have a Cloth and a Plate set?
I was just using cloth since they usually gave more bonus to mages, but I was taking so much damage from archer and someone recommended that to me. Is worth losing the bonus that Cloth gives to use Plate?

I never had problem until recently where I can easily one shot mobs anymore, but if anything gets near me I die, so I wonder if I can do anything to make leveling less painful at this point.

Upgrade your equipment and consider a shield. Also you should have one chest armor of each type to swap to just to avoid taking 50% more damage. A full set might help too.

Well you can pretty much do all content now with unupgraded superior royal guard or grynas and aspersion, so there really isn't a reason to upgrade it unless you're trying to take on ET or pvp.

Doesn't change the fact that waiting for rank 8 from now, will be way shorter than waiting for rank 9 from when rank 8 gets released, is the point I'm trying to make.
So waiting to spend money on rank 8 equipment seems to make more sense than spending money on rank 7 equipment that will soon be obsolete.
