Shifting is not difficult, And it's not just the amount of time. He's wasting power potential by never shifting like that. Not to mention WOT like that isn't healthy for the engine.

For many of the corners he was less than a gear change away from needing to be in second. Shifting to third then straight back down to second is less time the engine driving the wheels.
His engine life is his own concern.
That's not how this works user. You use shifting as a form of braking to slow down for the next corner instead of just using your brakes. He is shit, and you have a bus pass.
Ok, you hit third only to instantaneously shift back down to second just so you feel better.
