So I've been splatting IVAN characters.The one who got farthest got destroyed by an oak golem. I figure I got a little too happy grabbing loot so that must have fucked my danger level. I still managed to destroy some of its limbs with a wand of striking

It's honestly really fun even at the little I've been able to play. Was IVAN ever popular in the generañ or is it a more niche game?

Permanent lich form is great, but isn't the lack of possible good mutations quite a big deal?

I was torn between Ogre (for max HP and regen mutations aviable) Naga (for HP and all slots) and Deep Dwarf of Pakellas (Damage shaving and HP and all slots, but maybe there's not enough mana for ziggs)
Naga of Chei i guess? Also, could a "Slouch-spam" build (hat of pondering + ponderous plate + Statue form + amulet of faith for piety gains) work or does Slouch deal too little damage to justify the piety usage?

I wasn't tabbing, I cast Blade hands and a bunch of Shadow Creatures and ran out of MP. I was on Abyss:4 and ran into a lot of guys. I probably should have just done like 4 Slouches.

No, you're thinking of CLIVAN/LIVAN/IVANT/3D IVAN.

IVAN 5.5 is the latest official version. They moved to github around a year and a half ago.

If you believe in the germ theory of disease then you can easily pass the first dungeon. The second dungeon is a set of easy puzzles. The ultimate endings are pretty hard to do, but you should be able to get the Elpuri ending on your 20th try.

Playing Sorcerers are weird. You use like a dozen spellbooks, and you'd think that'd cut down your inventory space, but really the utility spells you get from it free some up from devices/potions.

Furthermore, you can drop even more slots once you start to get redundancies with spellbooks and you can use one or two utility books to do the job that 4+ books used to fill.

You are legitimately helpless once your MP runs out though, and given that your only method of killing things amounts to "be literally the blastiest mage ever", that happens often. That you can do nothing melee but run away makes it even worse.

Hope I can scum 555 soon. I'd hunt in the mountains, but the LoS blockers work against me there. Also I can't wear anything without getting a penalty to MP, which leaves me vulnerable to everything. I really, really hope I get one of those made-for-sorcerers items, like the Robe of Twilight.

Draconian, pick metamorphosis at level 35. It's kind of not that good though, and some classes can't pick it (riding ones and the ones that depend on weapons like weaponmasters mostly)
