It's the same with all the big stories. Any protagonist that doesn't have absolute black and white motives will always be bombarded with insult and criticisms by people who choose to view their actions in the simplest light possible.

The idea behind him is great, and I find him very spooky

Mangle hanging over you for minutes on end would have been pretty spooky if it was implemented better. And Freddy from one was a stone cold motherfucker.

It was a genuinely good twist late in the game and the way he perused you so relentlessly really sealed the deal.

Why does Freddy look gay?

Golden Freddy. He is only character in the first game that can enter your office before attacking, and there is only a very subtle warning that he will appear. Fucking scary

I wish the chances of encountering him were better, I've never seen him, I've only seen videos \ images of it. If I saw him while I was playing my first time I would've had a heart attack

I managed to get him Night 2 first playthrough. I was never a fan of horror games, so it took a while to get over it. That might have sparked my obsession with this series

I encountered him on night one of my very first play-through and seeing him spooked me enough that I accidentally hit the tablet button and made him disappear.

I got Golden Freddy but by the time I played I already knew how to deal with him. I think that maybe takes the fun out of it.

The spookiest moments are the times the animatronics are peering into a camera. Second-spookiest are when they're looking into the office like in 1 and 2.

I'm also sad I never experienced that, but yeah, that first moment they peer into your room is damn spooky

Does this Purple hatred stem from people being angry about Scott not making the story ambiguous, or from a single girl who happened to draw a version of Purple that became popular?

I don't mind Purple Guy as a concept within the FNAF universe. He's generic and bland and we don't know anything about him other than he's a shadowy bad guy who offed a bunch of kids that ended up getting stuffed inside the robot suits.

I have a problem with Purple Guy being portrayed as a super-kawaii bishie anime protagonist dindu. This isn't Twilight. He's a kid killer. He's a villain. He's not a good guy.
