Yeah Br/Gu is only really a thing for Elder/Loser/Maga. None of which most people do anymore.

I think its sole purpose is to make sure everyone knows FI is the DPS class and you're the actives only ever for damage class

What all affects PSE boosts? Does the type of elemental damage you deal affect the boosts that come up? Does having a mag cause the PB gauge boost to come up? Does killing mobs at close range make the Zero Range boost come up?

The variance for most 7-13* weapons are 90-100% with normal dex at 75/75

Getting crits more often would certainly raise your average DPS, although I'm not sure anyone's actually sat down and measured how much of an impact it actually was.

Yeah, it's really fucking bad. I hope they don't actually think people enjoy how tokyo MPA works and it's well designed or better than old maps.
There being ONE single mob spawn and having to kill everything to get more mobs to spawn on the map isn't good or fun.

This, and odin, are the two new forms of "content" they've added since I came back from a 2 year hiatus, and they are the only forms of BAD and boring content I've ever done in PSO2.

No, no, you enter "Burst Chance" mode when you hit level 8. Enemies will begin to spawn one at a time constantly although in much fewer number until you trigger the burst proper, or fail.

I don't think I've ever seen someone fail a burst chance, since it spawns enemies just like a burst does.

The Tokyo MPA format is generally preferred by the majority of the "old" player base, as it keeps everyone focused in a single tile with no possibility of "fucking up" the map by latecomers spawning shit on their run over.

I unironically enjoy the design of Tokyo free field.
That said, while it funnels the entire mpa in one area which is good, the delays between clearing an area and a code spawning/another area becoming active is aggrevating and grinds progress to a halt.

It's pretty rare these days, but it can happen, like if you're solo and somewhat poorly geared and defeat enemies quickly enough

I've been playing since ep1 and don't like it. Feels sloggish and delayed/boring.
This is the reason why it feels slow.
I've failed bursts killing over 30 enemies before, RNG is RNG.

Tokyo field is the best field to date, presentation wise and design wise.

1) Best field BGM.
2) MPA doesn't run around to a million different areas look for emergency codes, the blinking yellow dots tell you exactly where you want to be, making everything more efficient.
3) No single party area boss arena meaning solo players can also fight the boss with other players.
4) Less likely to be pestered by mobs when trying to gather/fish.
5) Can roll around at the speed of sound, which is convenient and really enjoyable.

And guess what? Las Vegas is looking like it'll be even more fun.

Assuming people would actually play Tokyo field, you'd be mostly right. However, the design of the quest is pretty much the absolute fucking worst for someone trying to solo it, which is going to be the case for anyone running it nowadays. No boss in a single party area makes it so that you just have to go through a slog of a map to get up to 1k points yourself, which isn't enjoyable in the least.

Yeah, but can't you also see how fighting enemies for 1k points while solo might drag a bit. That's about 15 minutes minimum if you're running the map alone. That's not a fun thing to do after a while, especially when it just spawns the same mobs over and over without an ecode for a while.

But that said, I'm not going to pull any punches here, Earth's maps are the ugliest by far.

Every previous area in the game mostly got away with being low poly because they were mostly natural areas, or gigantic alien temples or space ships. It was a bit of an artistic loophole, I guess?

But they try to copy actual real life areas the game's limitations have become way more obvious. It's terribly unflattering, it's like they're lifted out of the city areas from the Sonic Adventure games over a decade ago with 60+ fps and modern shaders

Not in the way, say, Ultimate or Challenge Quests are. Solo or even just single party can be slow, but free fields accommodate it just fine.

No, not really. Unless you think it's fun for everyone to run around the map and pop spawns looking for bosses, and when no bosses spawn, everyone having to go and clear them so e-codes will spawn. In which case, you haven't played in many of the older EQs where people did exactly that.

Let me put your question in a different way; 'why are they designing something in an MMO around multiplayer? It's not like anyone plays with other people.' They are designed around MPAs because, at the height of their usage and popularity, that's all it will be. You don't want to design something so some salty little bitch will be happy 4 months down the line when everyone's moved on, especially when it's clear that salty little bitch wouldn't be pleased no matter what they did and would instead just whine about how the map design doesn't encourage multiplayer in their MMO, probably while going 'LMAO'.

Even Tokyo spawns fewer enemies and easier E-trials with fewer players there. The main difference is the quest objective being solely a point goal.

Literally everyone is going to play through Tokyo explore at some point, whether it be new or old players. Sega should know by now how free explore fields end up by now. They should know that the way they designed Tokyo will make it incredibly unfun for anyone who wasn't around for its release, or anyone who is running it later on for any reason.

Pretty much everyone runs a daily recommended free field on the lowest possible difficulty, killing the minimum number of enemies they need, and then rushing to the end
