Why is there conflict between the factions in Far Harbour?

What the fuck is DimA's plan? I feel like this is really poorly explained and I don't understand what my options are.

I want to side with Far Harbour if possible and save the people there, but I don't even know how to do that.

I think the problem is todd tried to do something new, and ultimately he failed. He tried to appeal to a younger more general audience, and in that way he succeeded but he lost a lot of his hardcore, and modding audience (which the game was directed towards). You can't blame the guy(completely) for trying to compete with games in the modern age on an old engine.

They obviously tried to appeal to CoD players, The Sims players and Minecraft players.
So they'll keep dumbing down the game to appeal to these audiences.

Well to be completely honest the settlement building shit was a very popular mod in fallout 3 and new vegas, people complained about how the fallput games felt when shooting in 3rd person and how the guns didn't feel real. This community is unpleaseable. I think bethesda tried to add the shit in we asked for.
