The moment when the South VN lost to Commies

The emu war..... Never forget

Gettysburg was pretty bad.

Helping North Korean get nukes.
Losing 4 wars in a row.
Fucking up Afghanistan more.
Letting Saudis have influence in anything.
Basically the entire history of its existence.

tfw can't chose your starting region irl.

>forgetting to actually coordinate the attack with commies
That was one big blunder alright.

1943, just in the middle of the ww2. Contry broken apart divided by axis and allies

Trudeau election

Hard to say really as a Brit, lots of shitty things have happened but often lead to something good later.

I'd argue the Suez Crisis was one of the worst things to happen since it was basically the turning point where the empire started to crumble away, the world knew we were pretty crippled after the war and the colonies were no longer afraid to rise up.

Look Luigi, that was your own damn fault.

The day the government scrapped the Avro Arrow of course. ;_;7

The death of Gustavus Adolphus. Sweden would probably had taken over HRE if he had not died.

Your entire handling of what to do with the Ottoman territories was easily your worst fuck up.

How does it feel living under Sultan Erdogan

I used to rage a lot. Now I just feel apathy.

Yeah it sure wasn't losing India or the Americas.

Easily the civil war and the 30 years leading up to it

george bush becoming president

You think that was bad for Poland?

So how did communism workout for the country?

Hitler's rise to power and the 12 following years.
>inb4 butthurt /pol/tards

Mainly two events: Either today or tomorrow.

In reference to the Soviet Union coming in and basically killing off the majority of the resistance fighters, only to then enslave them into a workforce until the nearing end of the Cold War - yes.

Country?

Ruskies actually stopped their armies as the uprising started in order to let Germans massacre some more poles.

The moment we upset the jews.

Stockholm bloodbath

Scandinavia could theoretically still be united today if the Danish king hadn't fucked over the Swedish nobles

>an average city in West-Flanders during WWI

...

It'd have to be either the outbreak of the Civil War or the failure of Reconstruction.

The Civil War is to American politics what the French revolution is to continental European politics.

The original sin.

2nd Amendment
Indian Wars
Civil War
My Lai
Iraq
Trump

You kinda got the worst of both worlds.

There were reeducation camps, and a couple hundred thousand people died from that, plus a few million fled the country.

But the South won culturally. You had Northern generals using military cargo jets to fly down, steal all the Marlboros and Prada handbags they could, and then fly them up north for the black market.

The country was basically permanently fucked until the early 90s.

I'm not Vietnamese though, so take all that with a grain of salt.

Dubs checked.

In my lifetime: 9/11
Overall: Civil war

This, I heard from my Vietnamese ex that when the northern soldiers were raiding houses in the South in 1975 they were awestruck that most homes had TVs and refrigerators. It was enough of a shock that it took just a decade for the party to decide to throw away the socialism crap.

>the great famine
>the great northern war
>the civil war
i just can't forgive

Finally a Finn who understands

I'm pretty sure Finns undestand the shittiness of the Great Northern War a bit better than most Swedes, considering what went on in Finland during that time.

Operation Nickle Grass

You're absolutely right, what I meant was that I'm glad some Finns realise that the empire was a joint venture or rather that people back then saw no distinction between Finns or Swedes (except linguistical differences, but that was common in Sweden at the time, and it was expected of the king to learn Finnish), The Empire was as much "Finnish" as it was "Swedish", and the idea that these two nations should be separate is rather a new one and was forced upon us more than anything

Worst moment in Swedish history: The Finnish War

Secession of the southern US was pretty fucking bad

The handling of Mandatory Palestine was an absolutely massive fuck up.

The fall of Singapore was also humiliating to say the least.

Uruguay becoming independent

The Vietnam War and the American generations that were both raised and in their own little movements at those times. The number of divided beliefs of the "Hippy Movements" and unbelievable hatred towards their own countrymen was astonishing. The following military actions didn't accomplish anything and America regretted their action and pulled out, after several long years of intensive jungle combat. Present-day hatred is still present, despite the many years that have passed regarding the situation and most of the veterans who survived have only lived out of grievance for the lack of appreciation or respect that most Vietnam Veterans received from people of their own generation.

Not making it 13 independent countries after we won.

Poo in loo?

American

Civil War was pretty dark.

So was the Depression.

9/11 into Iraq into The Great Recession into this next period might be our decline though.

Things could be getting mighty dark.

Battle of the Plains of Abraham
Had it been won... had it been won...

We must all hang together, or we will most assuredly hang separately.

Encouraging the rise of radical Islam in the name of containing the possibility of communism or unfriendly regimes
>propping up Shah of Iran
>arming Mujahideen in Afghanistan
>repeating mistakes by helping depose Gaddafi and weakening Assad

>Shah of Iran
>radical Islam

You need to be looking at Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.

Actually, that's still true today.

Some lady killed her newborn 2 years ago :)

Chile between 1970 till early 80's was a shitfest

propping up that idiot Shah encouraged the people Iran to accept theocratic, terrorist-back assholes as a superior alternative
But the rest of your post is correct
