The poking attack you do when guarding, like with a shield or parrying dagger, has a much faster hitconfirm for backstabs. Holding L1 before you backstab with a Rapier vastly increases the amount of backstab confirms you hit.

Skeleton Lords was an alright boss. The big skellies are unique looking and there's a method to this boss. I thought it was kind of a fun boss. A lot of the bossfights in DS2 suck, though.
