I check on this piece of shit every once and a while but I'm really surprised the unstable is almost a complete game now with some smarter design choices like having random quests making the nothing villages worth visiting more and getting actual direction where you need to look to find shit and a reason to inspect

That remains to be seen. From what I have gathered, they did finally manage to add a lot of what they promised, even from way back with their kickstarter goals, like fossils. The game also finally has incentive to build/colonize planets, rather than just living off your spaceship. They have manged to fuck some shit up, though, like fucking up the GUI and ass-tastic mechanics like food decay. Hopefully nothing that won't be modded out in a week. Performance has also be a long time issue, and as long as you aren't running the game off Windows 10 with 4 gigs of RAM, it should be fine. Although, I can't give an honest opinion since I haven't played since version Angry Koala or whatever.

Almost none of them are updated to the current version. Most of them exist on nexusmods.com

Try nexus. I think they have one for animations with other players and a few modified nude and lewd mods. Ive seen an oddly detailed and fleshed out vore mod on youtube.

I played for a while early on, but got bored at the end when the crafting progression just got lazy and went ore to ore to ore rather than how it had been up to that point. It has a nice concept so I don't mind playing again until I get bored

Last time was 2013. Combat is 'not that shitty' anymore. Terraria Combat is still better.
