What kind of dev are you looking for? Any engine in mind?

Why not offer your art for a programmer? there are several platformers with shitawful art in this thread. You could be concept artist and make the sprites, and the programmer doesn't have to ababndon their project.

I'm just looking for anyone with some experience in programming. It can be done in anything, doesn't really matter to me, but if it could be done in an engine that can be ported to anything that'd be a bonus.

Even if I decided to code it on my own, I'd want the project to be programmed competently and take less than five years to finish. I can't do both of those on my own.

Sprite-wise I can only do tilesets, really. I can't animate worth a shit.

Plus I like the idea too much for that. It's not innovative or ground-breaking but the style and execution combined with my level design skills could at the very least make something really fun and memorable I'm sure.

My strongest potions would kill a dragon, let alone a codemonkey.

The issue is that this kind of premise is just pure unreflected sperg most of the time, and also not specific enough. "Metroid meets Stalker" can mean dozens of different things without clarification.
When you read that kind of premise, you should be careful.

user, you can pick up Game Maker right now and go from nodev to having finished your platformer in less than two years. Maybe even less if you use a GM base like Grandma Engine.

Obviously GM wants your cash before it'll port your game, but it's still a good choice. Hell, I'll personally help you get started if you'd like.

i shat out some basic platforms and implemented the angry birds style movement
the game is gonna be turn based, launching mechs and using their moves midair for combat. rpg-style progression and party making
i basically ripped off the idea from tobihime interbreed (minus the porn), and i'm gonna try to add depth to the gameplay

Yes the camera setup is not working that good, especially in the loops. With i"it works relatively okay now" I mean that the loops don't break the whole character controller or Sanix gets ejected from the loops at the speed of light.

It might be the first good Sonic game.

I dont know how that looks like, the only 3d Sonic games I have played are Sonic Adventure 1/2 and Sonic Heroes.

Being an ideaguy is strictly a drawback if looking for collab, everyone wants to work on their own idea. An artist offers art, a musician offers music, ideaguy just demands you abandon your own game and work on his.
