Same engine family, bolts right in. Common swap for more power.

The 1.6 is kinda meh, although you can stuff some nice tarbo 4-bangers in there and convert it to AWD using 323 GTR/GTX and Protege parts.

But why is the mx3 so heavy if it's contemporary with CRX

I may be new to cars , but that's not really anything I will do anytime soon probably .

The MX3 is the lowest mileage car for sale I like, all the others I listed are in the 100,000s and it's cheap. Plus it's a very pretty car.
Just wondering how it compares to the other cars I've listed in terms of driver satisfaction .

Supposedly they're great fun to drive, the 1.8 V6 is the one you really want though. Those sound fucking fantastic.

I sadly can't really find the v6 version for sale though

does the mx3 really have that much of an aftermarket ? seems like it has a disadvantage to honda with its mugen and jun

It shares a lot of parts with the 323/Familia/Protege, so most mods for those work on the MX-3 as well.

Certain Probe/MX-6 parts can be swapped in, too.

Overall the aftermarket isn't as huge as Honda's, obviously, but it's not too terrible.

Love mine, v6 makes pretty nice sounds with an exhaust.
Prepping for a turbo probe gt swap.
Also there's a nice red one with a klze already in it for 2400 near Seattle.

Why not KLZE or Miller Cycle swap? Bad engine?

Is the 4 cylinder not worth having at all? Is it that bad?

The S/C Miller cycle from the millenia can fit with some persuasion. I personally prefer the small high rev V6 with some boost added, but what do I know.

Probe motor is better for boost than the klze

If you plan on doing another 4cyl swap it's fine because turbo options, but v6 goes from 130hp to about 185 with probe v6, and about 200 with klze

This was my first car and they're pretty great. Had the V6 with the 5speed standard. It has a very good turning radius and handling. The V6 is a revving power plant and it is very easy to break the front wheels with it.

It's a load of fun, looks unique, and is a hatchback. It is every shitbox-enthusiast's dreams.

Not sure haven't looked into the klze much because prices suck and I got a probe gt motor already built for cheap.

I got the v6 for a while
fun as fuck car, but had to sell it because I didnt have any money to fix anything wrong with it and my parents didnt want to deal with it

It had around 220K miles by the time I sold it and I never had an issue finding parts. The only thing I ever had trouble with specifically is the master window switch. A lot of the parts are interchangeable for the B6E as well since it was used in the MX5, protege, Laser, etc.

But the Mazda K-series is like the only good V6 in the world. It's up there with the Dino V6. Maybe the SHO V6 can tag along, too.

It's just my personal opinion that it looks like it should have RWD.

I don't mind it at all if it's in something with less sporting coupe pretensions.

Chassis matters way more than drivetrain layout below ~300hp.

Well thanks to the driver and passenger Airbags; side curtain, seat mounted, and an interior made not economically, it's still a lot lighter than the CR-X III del Sol.

I used to have one. Was heavily molested and I tried to give it a decent paint job before I sold it, Someone covered it in black bullshit all over tail lights and everything. One of the best handling cars I ever drove, and was fun for being slow. Nobody wants one of these damn things though.

You're gonna want more power after awhile trust me, but its a head turner, or at least in the US I suppose. I had a lot of people ask me what the fuck it is and that they've never heard of one.

I'm not in the US, but they're still not exactly common around here.

There's some nice backroads though, and their low weight means low road taxes and decent MPG, which is nice because fuel's retardedly expensive.

The MX-3 and 6 are sports coupes. The S15 Spec-R is also a sports coupe. The DC2 Integra Type R is also a sports coupe. The sixth gen Celica GT-Four is also a sports coupe, as is the seventh gen Celica, as is the AE111.

They are all drastically different to each other.

I tried for years to find one of these in BC that isn't raped with rust and peeling clearcoat but it's impossible.
