The single death animation is probably just to make it completely unambiguous what just happened, to eliminate potentially confusing it for a mere knockdown or blowback

I suppose the alternative would be to make the screen turn black and white or something more dramatic. First person games get away with this by switching to third person so you can watch yourself ragdoll or whatever but a game that's already in third person has to do something different.

Im kinda sad I don't play pso anymore, I really want to continue since I have so many friends and so much time invested but I just can't. Nothing about episode 4 has really wanted to make me play, if anything the new content has been pushing me away. I hope my team doesn't mind me being away so much...

The pso2 team announced they took on more staff before the beginning of episode 4 and their ideas are what fueled much of what you saw in the recent updates. Much of the new people at sega aren't familiar with pso2 like the regulars. The two people directing EP4 have some experience with phantasy star though. (Nakamura EP2) (Hamasaki's (Zero / Po2 / EP3 (balance adjustment)

As for the team that went and created the anime, look at the histories of each of the people connected to the project. Most of the staff would be unfamiliar to the pso2 setting but they know school anime settings because thats the only type of projects they were participating in the most.

Its all about the money.
Games have stopped being games.

Many games have become more expensive to uphold and create because what has gone into it costs money.Their are usually small teams devoted to tackling each thing months in advance or they could end up with issues.

Many teams go broke way before the project is even started and some even run into trouble so they gotta micro transact everything to just break even.

The worst part is when the mechanics team drops the ball then the game can't even be a game anymore because it lacks the ability to be played like a game. Yet the pay button still works.

Luckily that isn't the case here but the issue here is wanting to alter an already working system with an incomplete system.

Gotta stock up on Embrace for next week

PSO2 is pretty good and we have to hope it doesn't become shit, but literally everything added in EP4 has been worse than ep3 or completely unfun garbage.

Odin? Shit, appears in parallel areas, completely ruined that content now.

Beach wars? absolute shit.

Tokyo free field? Shit design.

Yamato? Fun, but still shit content.

This hobby is dying to people who actually like it and catering to a player base of people who shouldn't even be playing video games.

I can't name a single multiplayer online game that's decent and good to play outside of PSO2 and POE anymore. They're all hot garbage.

Single player games are mostly shit but there's still at least a good amount of GOOD ones, they however, don't last long because you beat them then move on.

I'm really scared for my Hobby.

I wish it was that easy user. You and I know that even after you leave the hobby, the company that owns the IP for the product won't just put it away completely. It will lay on a shelf until the company really needs money and they will pull it out of nowhere knowing that the fanbase for it was quite large and it will prey on the hopes and dreams of the now grown adults whom were once children who idolized the product.

I would say this is correct however the amount of time I spent frequently playing stands by itself.

I spent a lot of time in sh and vh quests because of many alt-characters to finish client orders.I've run into many clones, tagami's and mesatans but p.portals outside of shaqs. Non existent to me to the point I don't even hear the omen chime it makes when you enter its same map.
