Not as good as the cx, sm, and ds.

Ride quality is way too nice for a terrible shitbox like the BX, god bless hydropneumatic transmission. Get the Xantia V6 instead.

It's a PITA to maintain the suspension. At least with a DS/GS/CX/XM you get a unique car for your troubles, but BX is barely above a Lada otherwise.

How come?

It's essentially a shitbox with really nice suspension.

>It's a PITA to maintain the suspension.
If you're a clueless moron who has only ever seen live axles, leaf springs and chevy small blocks in his entire life.

For a cheap budget, would it be the best car in its category? They all seem to be dirt cheap in poortugal, even the GTis.

insane suspension
bit of a shitbox but the styling is really cool and looks like a spaceship
GTi models are slow

looks like a foxbody.

also im diggint that rear end. looks 80's high tech as fuck

The BX GTi was pretty fast.

By yurop standards maybe.

At the time it certainly wasn't slow.
>160hp
>220km/h top speed

In 2003 i have a BX sport, and in 2009 a wonderfull red GTI 16v. Lightweight, Nice handling, perfect hydrolic suspension, Nice looking, ... Good cars

Posting best Citroen exec right here.

DSfriends welcome too, they're just not for me

This car really is best in BROWN

We don't get them in America so they must suck

BX GTI made about 122bhp iirc. It was an 8-valve.

That was the first phase. Then they launched the 16v which had the 405 Mi16 engine producing 160hp.

probably the only good brown car i know

The difference is that repairing leaf spring suspensions generally doesn't involve $500 pumps and valve units that take two months to get. It's not like the suspension is terribly complex, it just has rare parts and once it's past certain age, you have to be on constant lookout for wear and leaks lest one faulty part leads to several more dying.

I grew up in that car. I have my father's in my garage, just waiting for the day I can give it a full restoration.

It was awesome, I used to watch porn every night just fine because I knew exactly when they were geting home, no other car sounds like this, not even others BX. I have slept in the back seat like a thousand times.

I love it.

Those are hard to find parts but you need them every 20 years so it isn't really an issue

>it just has rare parts
I needed the balls that go on every wheel. I thought it will be like 200 € each, but it was just like 30€ or so. And found them really easy

>Get the Xantia V6 instead.

Eh, the Xantia is a bit dull compared to previous Citroens. If they sold the V6 with the Activa suspension in RHD cars I'd probably buy one, but they didn't.

If you're mechanically inclined, yes. Values are on the up pretty much everywhere else. Buy a diesel and you'll have a practical car that's cheap to run and more comfy than pretty much everything else on the road.

lamborghini copied the dashboard

the xantia activa most certainly isn't dull

Especially if you don't make sure the suspension is working right.
