Z31 or Z32, lads?

Z31 or Z32, lads?

Neither

do NOT respond to nissan hate shitposters

z32 of course. even the turbo z31s were slow as fuck, and all of them handled like shit and were heavy for what they were

But you did...
Nissan makes trash.
Even owners have admitted it.
Deal with it

z31 for the face
z32 for the ass

Z32 no question

Z31. Cooler options and more room under the hood to wrench.

>typical Z32 owner

inb4 hydrolock

>hydrolock, the car

agreed, there's this white one with some ugly ass rims on it for sale buy my house. I got excited because I thought it was a 240.

>ugly ass rims
>Shiro Special
>ugly anything
>not the epitome of 80s cool

Nigger, you best be joking.

beautiful cars

>Z31
>Looks nicer overall
>Rare (UK)
>Relatively cheap
>Appreciating classic if you find a great condition one

>Z32
>Better car in basically every way
>More expensive
>Hammered more
>Tough to find in good condition
>Potential deathtrap of maintenance

>trash or garbage?
Great thread OP

>>Rare (UK)
There's one just down the road from me. They look great.

I like both

Z31

both are my least favorite Fairlady gens

Id take a S130 over both

>liking the down syndrome S30

compare to Z31 and Z32 its a masterpiece

Z31 is more aesthetic.

Also muh digital dash.

z31.
z31 a shit

Those wheels are definitely worse than the 84-85 alloys

*z32 a shit

Even better if you put the time in and polish them up

Ok, old men. I see that you like to go slow and can't handle the speed aesthetics of the special. It's the future.

>he said before he puttered away in his Miata making sub-100hp now

Speed aesthetics exactly. I'd rather have my simple, clean 85 with a NA2T turbo VG33

Z33 is best Z

AE86 actually, and I've got two-tone paint which makes up for the sub 100 hp by making the profile of the car slimmer and sleeker like a Miami porpoise.

Z31 is the one I want. It would be easy for me to make one into a great, fast car, and I love the look of it. Since I prefer to work on my own cars, I would steer clear of a Z32 - they are awful to work on, having been through that ordeal a couple of times at the shop I work with as a tuner. I also am apathetic to the look of the Z32.

I'm actively seeking a Z31 to modify right now, but most of them are rustbuckets.

Fuck you

You have retarded taste and probably think rotas and xxrs look good.

>probably think rotas and xxrs look good
What do you mean by this? They don't all look the same, and only a fucking retard thinks they all look bad because between those two companies the entire gamut of wheel styles is covered.

Z31 for those slick looks and an engine bay that isn't famously hard to work in

Z32 for being actually pretty fast stock, though you can push a 31 almost as far as you can a 32.

>obvious bait
>people still took it

Taste is subjective, pal. There's no need to get mad about what wheels I prefer more.

>massive plastic hubcaps that don't match the colour of the wheel

based z31 desu

Z31,s are ugly as Fuck unless done really well and typically liked by boomers and ultra poorfags who think these 80s midlife crisis wheels are attractive They are inferior in every measurable way to the z32

You are right in some ways, BUT not in others.

1. Boomers and poorfags have ruined thousands of Z31s. Even though they were the best selling Z, it's very difficult to find a good example without huge miles/km.

2. Everybody can say VG30DETTs are a nightmare to work on. VG30ETs are SOHC, non-direct injection, so you have some space to work on things.

3. Z31's share a lot of parts with the Z32. Entire FS5R30A transmissions (87-89 Turbos) were used again in Z32's.

4. A common misconception on Z31's is "lack of aftermarket". Since Z31 parts such as whole engines/transmissions/subframes were used in other cars, one could source S-chassis suspension bits, Z32 brakes, radiators, pistons, etc. Even "Nistune" Z32 ECU's can be used on Z31's.

A properly done Z31 is a lot more unique than a Z32.

5. The original iron VG30DET block and cast heads came straight off of the Nissan GTP ZX Turbo IMSA Prototype Race Car. The engine can hold 1000HP, if it runs on methanol (heat reasons). One can directly adapt parts off of it for a Z31 if they wanted too, and if they had $68,000 lying around in 1990. My point is the VG30ET's can create huge amounts of power, just as much as VG30DETTs.

6. Since the VG30E is more bare-boned, it allows for more freedom in tuning for different applications, like a conversion to supercharging, and even carbureting (if you want to do that, IDK, and it has been done)

7. Since only boomers owned them, there's no rice/drift tax.

The Z31 is like a more quirky and unnecessarily complicated S13, but its is still allows for more freedom than a Z32.

Look up "Crab Spirits Z31" and you'll find pic-related, making an example of all I just said.

>Sorry, meant to say "VG30ET" in line 5, got mixed up

Why are Z32 owners such trash? They're always elitist fags that think their 25 year old sports car is better than everything.

t. Z32 owner

Z31 is the perfect 80's a e s t h e t i c sports car

Is that all people like this car for? This recent 80's craze?

It was my first car in highschool, and I still have it.
I have another with the full digital package I adopted last fall as well. Its not quick, but it can be fast. Its fun and gathers a lot more smiles than a 3000lb car with a truck v6 should.

No matter where I go, even with the beater i drove in high school, some guy in his early 40's will talk to me at a red light, or at a petrol station about it. i like the attention and know If I drove a vette (because I have), a 911(because I have), or a lambo, no one would bat an eye.

The moment when a z31 was my first car to.

also look at that : fuel number does not work...
But all the indicator gauges do. My booster is outputting voltage, but those are all not illuminated. I don't want to pay 200 bucks for a new cluster

it was a hand me down. I loved it, might be why i still have it. 1/4 million miles with no engine work other than oil changes and valve cover gaskets + timing belts. Thing is a tank : lost a tensioner and water pump bearing 3 hours from home. Just kept driving it. no issues other than the occasional "ping" when a ball bearing would shoot out of the timing belt covers and smack the hood.

Damn dude mines a 86 turbo what year was yours? And they are preety damn reliable.

born 1989 in poor and backward ass country
no one could afford new cars so the 90s were a decade late
never really got to live in the 80s just saw its death first hand

85 N/A base and an 86 Fully optioned N/A.
Both run, and are plated.

I also had a d21 beanermobile with 4 different panel colors and 2 black/ 2 silver wheels. (base, no tach)

and have had a few 200sx's.

I like my Nissan, they have never left me on the side of the road, even in the event of major failure they can limp home for hours.

Thats preety neat ive only seen one other z31 in canadaroo.

I'd imagine you could find a lot of them in the spill over from Michigan's ghettos near the boarder. I know last time I was in Detroit i spotted about 5 in bad shape, 1 in nice shape. That was just a 3 day visit. Americans LOVE shitty cars that roll like boats if they have a tbar roof.

How rare is that digital dash?

Z32s are objectively superior, but man oh man do Z31s make my dick rock hard.

Z32>Z31 in my opinion, I do t really like the way the z31 looks.

Z31 a best

They just look so good.

We /z31asfirstcars/ now?

I prefer the Z31 aesthetically, but the Z32 is such an unbelievable driving machine. They're not really comparable. Also, now is the time to buy a Z32 because the price on those is only going to go up.

Ay lmao. Shes sittin at the moment.

z31 for that 80's wedge feel

don't care if it's "slow", it's as fast as my current shitbox which can get out of its own way just fine.

You need glasses.

Yuropoo pls

Isn't the NA Z32 pretty tame though? What would you get over the Z31 aside from some fancy amenities and some more power at the cost of that engine bay?

>Isn't the NA Z32 pretty tame though?
No it's downright slow shit. Buying an NA Z32 is like buying a condom with holes in it.

So what's Plan B then?

Selling it on craigslist and getting what you paid.
