What people love is that they have a different, more animalistic aethetic compared to Miqo'te who are chubby faced midlanders with tails.

So I just leveled WHM to 60 and I am absolutely terrible at managing my MP. Not from healing, but from DPSing. I try to just keep Assize and Shroud on CD, is there anything else I can do? Should I try to hold Shroud until I get to 8-9k MP, something like that?

I am used to scholar where I have infinite MP, this is quite an adjustment.

The races in 11 were much more fleshed out but I guess that is due to the story demanding it.

Honestly I wish the races were just as fleshed out as it was in Vana'diel.
Eorzea's races are pretty much just there. I mean, Miqo'te and Au Ra lore is nice but we barely see any of it in-game at all.

Good point. Its hard to really separate them at times with it being the previous FF mmo and to see how much SE brought over in terms of what they learned, what they forgot, etc.

No one is making them out to be the best races in MMO history.
People are just disappointed how lazy, uninspired and half-assed XIV's characters are.

A lot of the love for XI's races come from the lore and XIV seriously lacks that, while they could have used the side quests in XIV to tell us about them. The only thing we got about Au Ra is that Ishgard thought they were dragons and killed a bunch of them.
And that's fucking it for a new god damn player race.

Also a problem with XIV is that in their effort to bootleg XI's races, they clearly didn't think how well the races would look cause holy fuck how did Elezen make the cut.
They could've improved on Elvaan and got rid of the ridiculous neck. Instead, they threw in the most awful animations as a "fuck you".

In fact, that's my biggest gripe with XIV as a whole. It just feels half-assed.

Because honestly, it looks horrible. It looked better on Elvaan but it looks bad on Elezen.
I can't really put my finger on why, but idk maybe it's the new graphics or something.
If elezen would have shorter necks and better face but I let the current ones slide apart from the male babyface they would look much better in stuff that isn't full plate armor.

1.0 felt more special than what it is right now. Eorzea felt like its own unique place as an FF universe but now it doesn't feel nearly the same.
Some lore from it was forgotten, too.

I liked all the XI races more than the XIV races for the varied animations. Every animation was slightly different in XI for each race. They're all the same for XIV.

As for me I don't really mind their necks, but it gets so fucked up if their heads are facing in another direction (somehow this is bad for most races in general)
Some angles really make it look so bad, like if the camera is looking up from below.
I miss how more defined and muscley Elezen looked in 1.0.

The elezen "neck problem" is a problem for most races. Miqote, both Hyur subraces, and Female Roegadyn all have abnormally long necks for any 3D game humanoid characters. It's just the most apparent on elezen as they are tall the and most slender of the races.
