I've been doing hotlaps in AC, but I'm wondering if most /ovg/ runs are in rF, rF2, or whatever.

In a time trial maybe, pace and racecraft matters in an actual race. You can get someone who can hotlap by themselves fine but turn to shit once they're in the field.

Because laptimes are a simple metric to measure. However, teams will look at their tyres, telemetry data, and general consistency to get a better idea of the driver. But, it should be said if you display poor racecraft you'll end up like Vadim Kogay. The laptimes are what will get you into your first season, everything else will determine if you get anymore.

I think the static camera angle he went with was plenty enjoyable as is, I actually prefer it over yours because it gives a very clear and natural sense of progression to the video and also allows for a higher quality level than moving shots.

This is my average race. I know it's shit (+15 sec at the end of short stage against bots, shit), but could someone tell me what's especially triggering about it? Except obvious flaws like moment when i fell off the track.

It seems like the slowest place you have going is the tighter corners, you carry no momentum at all and basically stop during the turn which you should never do unless it is the fucking worst hairpin of all time. Work on getting comfortable carrying a bit more speed around slower corners and also getting to know the courses will help a lot.

Honestly just drive whatever. If you really do have a tuned up car close to the HP limit you will simply dominate the races, and in fact you can go far lower than the HP limit for even the slightest bit of challenge if your car handles well enough. I've won 591 hp races with a tuned up 360 hp Silvia K's in the past, and unlimited hp All-Stars races with a 413 hp Daishin Silvia touring car.
