Also I've never actually started a general thread anywhere so sorry if I fucked up, cos.

NG+ just sets your pawn's sliders and stats to what they were at the end of your previous run (not counting when they turn into you, of course). I don't recall offhand if they give you a chance to change their appearance when you regain them, or if you have to use Art of Metamorphosis to do that.

Wish I knew what they are saying

>Arisen!?
>I'll catch you, Arisen!
>Sigmund...! Never mind the monsters, I'll get the loot!

And he's grabbing a Gransys Herb.

>first playthrough
>overleveled from doing too many sidesquests and exploring too much
>big monsters go down like paper
>incredibly disappointed at the lack of challenge
>got this annoying feeling at the back of my mind that I should start over to "experience the game properly"
>all those hours playing the game would be gone to waste and my 5/5/5 pawn would be erased
God, I feel so conflicted. Should I do it? Or will BBI quench my thirst for a proper challenge?

Give BBI a try.

BBI/2.0 can pose a serious challenge up to like level 120, and a (very) few fights there can remain challenging up to 200 even with the best equipment.

That said, once you've played BBI a while, you can sort of control the level of challenge yourself, because BBI equipment becomes such a massive portion of your effective attack and defense that you can significantly increase challenge simply by equipping lower level equipment.

I've decided, /ddg/. I'm gonna start a new game on cahnsul (for berserk armor) and make a qt R63 Griffith and R63 Guts arisen and pawn combo. Which one should I make Arisen? Also should I go 360 or PS3?

>qt R63 Griffith and R63 Guts

just make rule 34 ones

I mean if somebody halfway decent at drawing wants to take a crack at it, we could do both.

The worst part about throwing everything away to start a new game is that you have to go through the prologue again. Guhhhh.

Anyone know if the game autosaves at the end of the prologue but before character creation? Or is it just one save at the start of the prologue and then another AFTER character creation?

So you're going to make a male Griffith? ho ho ho

On a related note, has anyone made a mod for Casca armour?

Pablito is a nice guy at least.

Why are there so many spics in Cassardis and nowhere else?

Good review?

steamcommunity.com/id/matroska_/recommended/367500/

What other RPGs do you guys like? At the moment I can't stop playing Phantasy Star 2 and Breath of Fire, though other than the Capcom link for BoF I can't see much connection between them and DD.

Cassardis is very Spanish/Italian for some reason. The rest of Gransys is basically English.

It seems way more Greek to me. Either way, it wouldn't be surprising if the devs just thought of it as "Europe" and googled for "European coastal town" and "European castle town" and just went with that.

You know the fort where the hydra attacks you? That was built to keep the spics down that end of the map.

There's definitely some of that, too. Cassardis is basically a Mediterranean fishing village mashup.

been a couple weeks since i played

Its exactly like a town I know in Portugal but less cozy.

So working on Gattsu-chan right now. Is R63 Guts stacked, or does she have tiny tits? Inquiring minds want to know.

Octavia's owner here, back from festival.
I'm working on a new doodle, one of my personnal screenshot from some threads ago.
It's been 2 or 3 hours since I started this one but holy shit I need a break. Drawing scales is a fucking pain.

Sorry for shit quality, still have no access to scanners.

Stacked, of course.

Nice.

I've tentatively decided to go with boob-slider position 3 (counting up from 0 from the left), but I'm not putting any of this down in stone yet.

>drawing scales is a fucking pain

Used to doodle dragons all the time in high school.

iktf

Also welcome back.

Sorry for the shit color, having to take these photos from my phone because lolconsolescreenshots.

So I've been working on this long enough and I started from a sufficiently hideous beginning (I transposed the sliders for the male Guts-expy default onto a female body for shits and giggles and got more of the former) that I can't honestly tell what this looks like anymore. Any thoughts?

She's 189.3 cm at the second to highest height slider, and I think Guts is supposed to be like 190, so she's quite tall.

I like her but then I do like girls that look like lesbians.

Chin is good, even tho it could be squarer.
Mouth could be bigger and larger, don't hesitate to give Gutsine plumper lips. Try to find a larger mouth that doesn't give her an overbite on her profile.
Nose is good.
Try to make her eyes bigger or make them go a little further from each other.
Lastly, it's personnal taste but I'd give her straight and heavy eyebrows if you want to push her manliness.

Mercedes is for _______

I'm honestly not surprised why my pawn tends to return with only 3stars constantly nowadays post lvl 150.

BBI has so much bullshit where your pawns fuck up and there's nothing you can do to help them and that's not even counting Death.

It's really mostly Death and maybe the odd pitfall.
Everything else should be fair game.

I gave her the bushiest angry/determined eyebrows (08). I think they came off a little less bold because of the color issues, but unfortunately you can't get super-bold eyebrows in CC. I'd love to be able to get pic related eyebrows for men or women, just in general.

A Mercedes is for cuddling

Roughly mating press in the woods.

BBI is fun and challenging, but what a fucking shit why do you do so little damage.

I'm lvl 65 already, don't tell me I have to grind up to lvl200 or something.

You need BBI gear to properly function in BBI.
Thankfully there's probably a few Weapon Lv2s lying around for that.

>make my main pawn a mystic knight
>she never uses any of her shield skills
>mfw the only reason pawns can't be hybrid vocations is because Capcom was too lazy with their AI

Less lazy and more Capcom rushed the game out before the devs had a chance to finish like 70-80% of the planned content.

Rushed, thank you. That's the word I was looking for.

>the basegame could've actually had tons of content
>instead now everyone jerks over BBI because "muh edgy muh hardcore for hardcore experience for hardcore Dark Souls fans like myself"
If there ever is DD2 i hope they DONT listen the community at all.

Spying on while she masturbates.

You don't think that it's because being the only one that can be those classes is something that makes the hero special? Like how the main character in Dragon Quest is always a unique class, the "hero class" with unique skills and stat growth? If Capcom were going to be lazy or rush something out, they wouldn't have done pawns at all. They could've easily got away with it just being a normal single-player RPG like just about anything else comparable to DD.

>If there ever is DD2 i hope they DONT listen the community at all.
Nice paradox.

>1st runthrough up to Daimon kicks my ass as Sorcerer
>on my way to 2nd Daimon I'm cutting through Condemned Gorecylops, Garms and Cursed Dragons like they were butter and my holy staff a warm knife
>carry 10~ Demon Periapts (as well as my better stats) and fuck both Daimon forms up
>still get fucked over by double Icewyrms, double Thunderwyverns, Goblin fucking Shamen

Amazing how I can nearly double my stats with equipment and still have trouble with the same shit I was stuck on before. Fuck that one flooded area with saurian sages + goblin shaman in closed quarters and the ogre that always arrives halfway through.

It's not like BBI has a lot of content, it's just got more interesting end-game stuff and it's so easy to get to the endgame in DD. They reuse areas so many fucking times it's not funny. The worst is when they don't change how you enter an area. Descending that tower area as skeleton mages banshees harass you is tense, and different enough from ascending for me to appreciate. On the other hand, the Garden of Ignominy is used 3 times and gets old very quickly.

I actually like Bitterblack, I just wouldn't ever want its tone or aesthetic to be the basis for a DD2. I think it was a nice change from Gransys as a side-thing, it's just sort of unfortunate that it's the only place that actually offers a challenge post-50/60 or so in a game with a levelcap of 200.

I'm thinking Griffith-chan should have relatively small boobs, /ddg/.

You're thinking right.

Dropped my pic.

So Griffith-chan or Gattsu-chan Arisen, /ddg/? I mean, obvious choice would seem to be Griffith-chan. I'm sort of leaning MK for Griffith-chan, too, so that would also imply Arisen.

More muscle.

I think actual Griffith is more feminine than Griffith-chan.

Yeah, there's that too.
Except until you realize there are bandits and corrupted pawns who are MAs

I want more musculature, but I'm afraid of bulking her up. I mean, Griffith's pretty skinny.

While I'm trying that, what's the preference on hair? I feel like the first one is closer in profile, but the second comes closer to Griffith's wavy curls.

Elder Ogres just fuck my shit up, no matter how much I improve my gear. I don't even fight them anymore, takes too long and isn't worth it.

Bumped it up by one. This could work.

Well then if AI can be those classes then you can't blame it on them not bothering to make the AI use it. It seems like a design choice to distinguish the Arisen from Pawns - enemies can be the same kind of thing because their meant to be on your level insofar as being a challenge or a threat. The Pawns are these brainless buffoons who follow you around like dogs.

I can't remember off the top of my head but to go back to the DQ comparison, I wouldn't be surprised if some enemies throughout the series have basically been like an evil hero class.

I think I read that on Amazon years ago.

She has an amazingly punchable face.

I suppose I'm just looking at it the wrong way. I was hoping there'd be more team building freedom.

In a sense it's only a good thing when devs dont listen to fans because when we think about it, official communities as in those that infest official forums are heaps of shit worse than 100 /ddg/'s lumped together with a spin of Tes-gen.
It has it's moments, mostly when you are going through it first time but post-daimon it feels like this shit is intentionally broken or they just went "lel let's just throw some random monsters here and there and call it a day :^)".
Yeah, i wouldnt have such a low opinion of BBI if they atleast didnt reuse maps, just reeks of either laziness or running out of time and having to put filler just for the sake of extra hour or 2 of gameplay.

Also it just keeps reminding me of Dragon Age 2 and that's something you really dont want your game to do.

So... Is that a vote for it being a decent Griffith attempt? :^)

Currently in the middle of doing a solo run anyone have any tips?

>It seems like a design choice to distinguish the Arisen from Pawns - enemies can be the same kind of thing because their meant to be on your level insofar as being a challenge or a threat. The Pawns are these brainless buffoons who follow you around like dogs.
That theory falls flat on its face when you realize that those same enemies who get to use hybrid classes are also pawns.

There is obviously more going on with your pawn's AI than with the enemies'. A fighter or strider will just get up close and hit you, while mages and archers will shoot you and (maybe) create some distance if you get too close. They may use different skills but their general strategy won't change. Inclinations alone makes your main pawn more dynamic and therefore more complex.

Done with the second doodle.
Can't draw fire for shit sadly, so you'll just have to imagine fire and brimstone on the bottom, hopefully the shading and lighing helps.

Now I'm pondering if I should go for an Octavia pin-up doodle.
Question is...
nude or non-nude ?

dressed like a japanese schoolgirl

Nude.

I wish they wouldnt make augments like +10/20% strength and such because those are just too good to not use which makes every build bland as there's only few slots for more unique and fun augments.

Stat modifiers are only fun if they're either small but universal (+5% for strength) or large but specific (+20% strength when climbing, +20% damage when attacking at full stamina etc. Things you can't have 100% of the time without going out of your way). Anything else is too centralizing.

Which reminds me, what sort of augments would you guys like to see? I'd want an augment where your main pawn can revive you, but it only works if you and your pawn have corresponding augments ('Reliable' for your pawn, 'Reliant' for you).So you give up two slots for one ability.

A 'Sensible Climbing' perk that allows you to climb a monster without spinning in circles or getting stuck under their armpits as well as rotate the camera while climbing so you can actually see what the fuck you're doing.

If you want your arisen or pawn drawn, don't hesitate to post some portraits.
Can't promise I'll be able to draw your pawn to your satisfaction but I welcome the training.

I'll see what I can do after the maybe-lewd Octavia pin-up.

Much better.

how many hours of DD do you need to play to really get into it?
Its downloading on my ps3 as we speak

1000

I'd say it goes like
>Prologue: okay this is interesting but I'm not even playing as my own character yet
>Very early bit up to the hydra: interesting as you're learning all this stuff and figuring out what you can do
>hydra head escort: kind of annoying
>early Gran Soren: I really like exploring big towns so I liked this, but you still don't really know what you're doing

At around this point there are shitloads of sidequests all over the place and you can get really distracted. It's good that there's so much to do but it really holds you back from the main quest and thus getting some more context.

As the main plot moves you north from Gran Soren, that's where it really started to take hold on me. The feeling of adventure and exploration really went through the roof for me at this point.

Once you get to Gran Soren and change vocations.
On your first playthrough I'd estimate that to be a good 5 hours if you keep sidetracking like I did.

>The feeling of adventure and exploration really went through the roof for me at this point.
The Shadow Fort quest is great in that regard. It sends you on quite a journey with some surprises along the way, and then you have a nice climax at the fort itself.

God damn fucking hellhounds

>tfw your pawn casts fire affinity against hellhounds

That's not Sparyard with 2x of those spellcasting wyrms

>Shooting hellhounds with my staff, literally killing them in a single volley
>see a pawn charging a fire spell
>see a fire orb flying towards me
>now I have to re-enchant my own weapon, use a long cast time ice spell because I use Ingle for closequarters 90% of the time or just run away
Pic related

>trying to initiate against double wyrms as spellcaster
End me

We all know that hounds are weak to fire, Arisen.

>tfw I purposely let succubi cling to me and pretend they're shoving their tiddies in my face

My pawns must be disgusted with me.

I'd like to see augment for higher jumps because i love jumping around.

Other than that im boring and i'd be fine if they just combined many of the more useless augments together so they arent so shit.

I still want a perfect landing augment that makes all of your jumps have helmsplitter's infinite fall distance.

Augment that give my pawn a fucking bulge goddamn it.

Not sure if it'd be kind of repetitive for you drawing another brown tomboy, but if it's not too much, I'd love to see a Rienne doodle.

Here's a better picture of her face.

So basically just a buff to Grace?

Has anyone figured out how to switch a weapon's category?
Using a longsword one-handed, for example?

Whatever they gotta do, user.

i think there are some augments that buff you if you're solo

An augment that increases the potency of non-damaging debilitation, either increasing the speed at which it takes effect (petrification), the potency of it's effect (topor), or the duration of it's effect (sleep, freeze)
An augment (or core skill) that increases jump height/distance (most reds really need it)
An augment (or core skill) than increases the range of the staff/archistaff's melee attacks
An augment that increases movememt speed/adds movement while charging skills

>"It's a maneater!"
>"i'm coming to help!"
>proceeds to just stand there looking at the Arisen getting eaten
... and her beastiary on Maneaters is 3 stars.

I would do lewd things to those bat tits.

More core skills and upgrades in general would be nice. For instance, a staff/archistave coreskill that lets you float straight up at the cost of horizontal movement (you have to jump while still and hold space for it to work) and consuming stamina, or allowing for a gentle descent that ignores inertia for longer for landings. A coreskill that lets you bludgeon enemies with your staff while grappled on them for fighting golems. That kind of thing.

I usually dance frantically in front of chests trying to get a pawn to open it for me, because whenever I open one and get bitten a pawn either immediately frees me or gets confused and runs around pointlessly. But they never take the hint that I want them to pick something up.

>mfw I open a chest, a maneater comes out but somehow misses me, hits one pawn for damage and clips another through the floor into the water killing it from the brine

>pawn-AI.jpg
