If I buy a 240sx and then do the usual mods, coil overs, exhaust, and then turbo it, would I be able to sell it at all? What's the point in modifying a car if it ruins the value of it?

At that point. probably not. Unless you have receipts that say it was done professionally at a shop with no check engine codes or issues. Nobody wants to buy your hackjob, unless they're a masochist, or just dont care.

Coils/exhaust/wheels are not enough to turn someone away who has a clue about cars. Unless you want to tank your already awful resale value, stop there.

Unfortunately drift tax has turned the 240 into a scene car that in any condition is considered at the top of the food chain. It makes people believe that a shell alone with rusted out frame rails, rust rot strut towers and holes in the floor is worth like $3,000 because "drift tax" bro. Its at least nice to see its not just New York where this shit happens

Because people want to do the mods themselves and don't trust you to have done them correctly. The whole point of modifying a car is to make it exactly how you want it. The easiest way to do that is to start with a clean base.

Plus the 180/200 has a better engine than the 240.
